br>I went with a less expensive corded WEN detail sander, which I've had for more than two years. br>The cordless detail sander's minor convenience isn't worth the Ryobi's extremely short life cycle, and it's not nearly as light and maneuverable as a corded sander due to the bulk of the mounted battery.
This tiny corner cat left a lasting impression on me. I still had the old one, which was wired back to when Ryobi's color scheme was blue and red. It performs in the same manner as the other, but without the annoyance of the cable. I have never had an issue with refurbished items. Sometimes I go out of my way to find them. I only do woodworking as a hobby and am not a professional, but it suits my needs perfectly. There are no issues. I would tell a friend about it.
I have several battery sized sanders, and the larger ones are far too heavy; sanding on a horizontal surface might help. So, with the smaller battery, it seems to last a long time, but you can tell the power is dwindling before it finally shuts down due to battery depletion.
I had to return mine because I couldn't get it to work with my limited hand strength, but others should give it a shot!.
With multiple baytery changes, it took over 3 hours.
I worked for about ten minutes before starting to smoke and quitting my job.
Excellent service and product.
