I bought this to replace a black and decker that had given up the ghost, and the only thing I dislike about it is how difficult it is to change the paper in the mechs. The locking bars for the paper are angled; one side only just opens, making it difficult to get the paper in; especially once you've nailed down the first side. The B, on the other hand D had a simple plastic stop that kept you from pushing the paper in too far and allowed for easy paper locking. After 10- After 15 minutes of vibrating your hand, you lose a little dexterity, so those simple things that made changing the paper on the B D easy will be missed greatly.

Can't seem to keep a piece of sandpaper in the sander, which appears to be designed to let go of the sandpaper on one end of the sander. Do not purchase this sander because it has small ridges on both sides that prevent you from clamping down on the paper all the way across. Update: I spoke with Ryobi, and they sent me a new base plate that worked much better. The springs on the original cut of the tabs were loose, allowing the sandpaper to lay flat, and there were no more issues.
This is a high-quality sander that works with little, if any, pressure. It's simple to use and feels great in the hand. It is much quieter than my old sander and runs smoothly. At a reasonable price, this is a good product.
