My original intention was not to buy a sander like this. My intention was to sand cabinet doors, but the sander is too lightweight for the task. When I noticed that the sander started to fall apart from the bottom where the sanding pads were located, it surprised me. It might work for craft jobs of a small scale.
I have found this to be very helpful.
This is a mouse that is old. The product is superb and has replaced my 22 year old unit. It is version.
As part of the Amazon Vine Program, I received this product for free in exchange for an honest review. This product is listed as "BLACK+DECKER BDEMS200C 1" at the BLACK + DECKER Store. A mouse sander model 2A" is a fun, easy tool. With a small corded mouse sander like this, I can reach into tight corners and crevices that are difficult for an orbital sander to reach. A side view of the sander can be seen in the image of picture two. The picture shows the dust collector filter at the side of the sander. A small sized hook and loop sanding paper holder is shown in picture 3, which has the BLACK + DECKER hole pattern. A sheet of generic silicon carbide paper (picture 3) is the wrong size for the non-B+D "Mouse". Because the hole patterns cannot line up, and because the sheet of paper is too large, the holes will not line up. As a result. Using a different generic brand Aluminum Oxide "Mouse" sandpaper sheet worked well too. Having two problems at the same time. As a result, I am led to believe that BLACK + DECKER would like to force me to use ONLY THEIR specific sandpaper. If I ignore the paper size issue and let these generic sheets stick to the pad edges, the holes will not align to allow the vacuum sander to collect (vacuum) the wood dust created during This design has been deducted one star because of my displeasure with it. Figures 5,6 and 7 show how to lay on and use the finger attachment for sanding tight areas. There is definitely a place for this in my life! One advantage of this little attachment is that it's easy to cut paper to fit in it. It uses just one Phillips screw to hold it in place. An about six foot long cord is attached to this sander, making it comfortable to use. The only thing holding me back from liking this tool is the need for specific Black + Decker Mouse sanding papers with the odd hole pattern I require. In my limited review of BLACK+DECKER BDEMS200C 1, I give it a 4 Star Rating. Since I feel that I should be able to use any sandpaper brand made for a "Mouse" detail sander, I have chosen 2A mouse.
Although I have always wanted to do it, being a single mom didn't allow me to find the time. I had even planned out a specific project. My sander finally arrived about a month ago after I finally decided to get one. Knowing nothing about what I needed, or didn't need, or whether I was able to do this before, I had no idea what I needed. It's circular, so I can't reach certain places with it. So the one I ended up going with actually works, but it's circular, so it doesn't go into certain places. Having done most the work I had in mind, I was left with an unfinished job because I did not have a sander that could reach those little crevices. In the process of searching for an alternative to the circular one, I came across this black + decker mouse sander and figured that because of its shape I could get in places I could not achieve I have to say, I'm really enjoying using this mouse sander so far. You can use it to reach places with the other circular tip that are too small for the other. In addition to the rest of the sheet, it's great for just regular I've been using it for a few months and I'm impressed with its performance. In truth, I probably could have given up on that circular one entirely and just done this one instead. However, I'm kind of glad to have them both since the circle covers a bit more ground than this one can in a single pass over a larger flat area. This is a great one, but I'm mostly pleased with it.
In anticipation of a cabinet project, I thought I would be able to get in all the nooks and crannies with this tool. My first problem was I had to buy specific sand paper, which was annoying, but I was able to find a pack of it on Amazon for a pretty reasonable price. * The sander performed superbly on my cabinets because of the tight spaces. However, it would seem that it would take a long time to do any big project because it is so small. Smaller projects or projects like mine that have a lot of tight corners are a good fit for him. I have no complaints regarding the paper other than the issue with the printer. The Black and Decker sander is a trusted brand, and it tackled the job perfectly.
The first Black and Decker hand sander I bought for small projects and touch-ups about ten years ago still works great and I really recommend it if you want to refinish A project to remodel a house is in the final stages. (I still have it). However, this little sander is more effective in almost all ways (for smaller projects the same goes). In addition to the dust bag, which captures most of the dust created (but obviously you'll need to use it in a ventilated area), one of the best things about it is the finger attachment on the front for cleaning up fine corners and really tight Using it to clean up an MCM mirror with lots of fine corners, it worked like a charm.
The only issue I have with the tool (as noted by others) is that you have to buy proprietary sandpaper to use In any case, this is a really good sander, and if it lasts as long as the other one I have from them, it should be quite worth it in the long run.
