Since 1996, I have been using Fein Multimaster tools on the job. A few weeks ago, my truck was ransacked and when I purchased a new oscillating tool from Fein, I discovered that they had changed the blade design so I would no longer be able to In search of an alternative that could make use of the many blades I still had, I chose to look into a tapering method. After looking at all the other brands on Amazon, I selected the Sonicrafter F80. You can choose from three options price, amperage, and voltage. In my opinion, oscillations of 5 to 5 mm was the most important factor. I have used Fein brand tools in the past, but this tool outperforms them by a wide margin for the same type of cutter. It cut at a much faster rate on the 5 mm setting at its lowest motor speed (1) than when it was at its fastest motor speed with my former tool. If I select 3, I will always be able to do so. Precision and delicacy are enhanced by the 5 mm stroke. A major factor in the high clamping pressure offered by the Porter Cable blade blade mount system could be its high clamping pressure. As a result, the blade change takes a bit more time, since you have to tighten the lever until it is sufficiently tightened before you can flip it down to lock it as opposed to simply flipping it up and down. To my mind, the fact that this tool can precisely control the clamping pressure on the blade and eliminate any slippage when it is engaged in a cut is what makes it so effective. In my opinion, there is no similar tool on the market that makes use of almost any blade from the available selection that can be as effective as I consider this oscillating tool to be the best value on the market.

In the past, I had a Dremel that lasted about 3 years. I appreciated how loud it was, but it worked just fine. My old Rockwell 4 died last week and I had to have a new one ASAP, so I upgraded to this one. The current is 2 amps. It was a great decision and I'm happy with it. Despite having way more power, this blade has been able to cut through thick hardwoods with ease. As a designer and builder of custom cabinetry, I found myself making cuts I would have never done with a dremel during a kitchen install last week. Generally speaking, these tools are one of a kind. A new and amazing tool that has not been seen since the saws - The whole thing. The thought of working without a computer just doesn't make sense to me. This is a tool I use all the time when installing cabinets. My dremel is a bit louder, but I still wear hearing protection when I use this unit. Compared to the hard plastic case, which I usually toss since it will not fit in my tool chest, it vibrates a lot less and doesn't shake as much as I am used to. However, I wish it came with the soft bag rather than the hard plastic case.

I am very pleased with the I did not experience any problems loading the blades, and they performed well. Easy to cut straight and very easy to operate. It is a specialty tool and should be used for cuts you cannot accomplish with other tools. I would expect blades to wear fast this is just what I'd expect. You will quickly notice that it has a large motor, a cool motor and great balance once you start using it.
