If you are using the 1, you can do so. The current is 5 amps and the voltage is The run-time may not be as good as for 0 amp batteries but it should be sufficient It is better to use the 3 when it comes to weight distribution and time. 0 amp and 4 amp are 0 amp and 4 amp respectively. A battery with a current of 0 amps.

What kind of sanding pad does it come with (usually triangular)?

It comes with two adaptors, so you can attach other brands of attachments to it if Makita changed what they include since the last post, but I am not sure if Makita changed their package since then. A sanding pad is not required In Makita A- ( Punch- There is an Amazon page for 96089 Sanding Pad.

Selected User Reviews For Makita XMT03Z 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Cordless Multi-Tool, Tool Only

A thought doesn't occur to me - Unlike other Makita products, it comes with an out tool
3/5

It may have good quality, but everything else is wrong with this oscillating tool. I've been a Makita user for years, so I knew as soon as I touched this tool it would be returning to me 1

Having a bad ergonomics is a major problem. The cordless drills and saws from Makita are a natural fit for your hand, and after a short period of getting used to them you will feel like you are using them every day. I find this saw to be quite large and cumbersome. The experience is similar to having a Pringles can in your hand. Adding a battery makes this nothing you will get out of your pocket to use every day. - Breathe. -Breathe. There is no LED lighting in the room. Is it a mistake that Makita does not have Led lights in year 2019? The fact that this product doesn't feature LED lighting is a deal breaker for me, especially since the video shows it clearly. As you may have noticed when watching the video, the saw in the video is an older model (pause the video and look it over with care). Are you kidding me Makita? In a model update you removed lightning? My hope was that this would make it possible for me to go cordless on the tool I turn to almost every day, my Rockwell oscillating tool, but It might be wise to switch to the Fein cordless if Makita does not remedy these issues soon.

It was a costly mistake back in the day
5/5

I too became a victim of Dewalt tools. My first statement is that I am a huge fan of Makita battery-powered As a fan of battery operated tools, I have tried out all of the brands out there. look at the longevity, reliability, battery life, and the quality of built of Makita tools, they will win every time. I also am a fan of Milwaukee tools since the quality of their batteries and the variety of tools they offer are second to none. In addition, Milwaukee tools are more expensive than Makita and do not offer enough of a benefit to justify the higher price. Generally, I find Dewalt tools to be less than excellent. I fell for the overly hyped and overpriced yellow tools targeted at every day professionals back in the day. In my experience, Dewalt tools do not last. I have replaced every dewalt tool I've owned earlier than possible. There is just nothing to like about them. Anyway, that's all. These multi-purpose bags are so much fun It has been a great experience using our tools and finding them useful. My master bathroom was the most recent instance. The bathroom in my master bedroom is being renovated right now. We are going to tile the bathtub surround, which means we need to remove the drywall and put in cement board. The tile will not finish all the way to the top of the wall nor will it reach all the way across. I needed a relatively precise way to cleanly cut out the drywall so that it could be replaced with cement board, so I chose the Makita Multi Tool. I do now have an extension cord for my multi-tool This tool is really great, but I don't want to be tethered to a wall for it. The bathroom is getting redone since I'm doing the whole thing. I didn't want to add an extension cord to the mix since there is stuff all over the place. This Makita multi-tool is the one I choose because I already own a number of Makita batteries. That is just the case. This is a great tool that Makita put some time into thinking about. The only thing I don't like about this game is the tooless blade changes. Putting on the new blade is as easy as pulling back the release lever, removing the threaded stud, placing it back in place, and locking it down with the lever. Makita also includes adapters so you can use just about any multi-tool blade you like. Rather than relying on a trigger pull with this tool, Makita opted for an on and off switch. Depending on the brand, trigger pulls are sometimes used on their multitools and it's very cumbersome trying to use a tool like this and keep a consistent pull on it. To prevent this Makita made the decision to use a simple on/off switch with a variable speed dial instead. The ole noggin Makita is put to good use. The battery is also held by the action casing, which is another great feature of this tool. As you can see, this part of the tool can be moved independently from the rest of it. It's nothing to worry about. There is nothing wrong with it it's supposed to be like this. There is slight articulation in the battery casing so that it can vibrate independent of the tool. By doing so, two things are achieved. Basically, it extends the life of your battery by allowing the battery itself to vibrate independently of the tool casing. Vibrations are bad for batteries, and using this tool lets the battery case vibrate independently of the tool By doing this, you can also maintain some of the vibrations that are transmitted to your hand, since the pendulum acts as a counterbalance to the vibrations that cause the hand to vibrate. It is important that you get a good pair of headphones or ear plugs, because this tool is quite loud when using it. Other multi tools are also loud when cutting with them. During use, every multi tool I've ever used is loud enough to break your eardrums. plug your ears with some earplugs and make sure that they're happy.

A solid five out of five An outstanding five-star hotel There is one flaw (potentially) in this tool
4/5

When you're looking for a versatile multi-purpose When you're looking for a tool that can handle worksite abuse and just about anything you need to cut, this is a great option. However, it is quite heavy, so if you're looking for a light-weight tool, this is not your best option. If you're looking for a lightweight child's toy, you might want to check out other options. Multiple cordless and corded multi-tools have been in my possession I've done considerable research into Makita power tools, and with just about a week of construction, I'm convinced that this model is my top choice. It has the power and solid construction of a high-end utility tool. With the flexibility of a cordless unit (duh), this is the perfect unit. Batteries such as the Makita LXT generally hold up to this application fairly well. I've been very pleased with the Quick Change feature so far. It is both easy to operate and works well A second reason I like it is the adjustable speed, as I can adjust it according to what blade I'm using, the work I'm doing, and how much dust I want to allow to escape. Other reviewers have noted the absence of a LED at the head of the device, which is also a flaw, to me. Makita dropped the quick change lever here because it is here where the quick change lever is. Despite this, however. The little bit of light you get from the lamp is great. As a contractor, I know this and so decided that overall the quick change feature outweighed the light (which it does, to me, since I am juggling several blades on the construction site), but Makita needs to revisit this problem and replace the light with a functional one.

A quick-reference guide There needs to be a relocation of the change feature
3/5

Over the last 2 years I have used the older version of this tool (model LXMT02Z) and have been delighted with I have one huge complaint about it I wish there was a quick tool change option. With this newer model, this issue has been resolved. What is wrong with this tool that it is not a 5 star product? The quick-release mechanism is in the model you are considering My personal opinion would have been to make the older model a 5 star product. But this new quick-change feature took the older model down another notch Two new problems have arisen because of the design of the change lever. 1) Due to the size of the building This is where you can find the quick-check-out As a result I cannot cut deeply enough due to the change lever. It is not uncommon for me to use my circular-shaped tool Cutting out drywall sections with saw blades designed for cutting shapes. Here are some quick facts about Leaving the change lever in place after the blade cuts through drywall, it strikes the wall first. When the old design was in place, this was not an issue.

2) Because of the location of the quick-service There is no light on the newer model due to the change lever. At first, I didn't think there was anything to be concerned about, but it is a big deal. My older model flashlight or a flashlight I use now when I am cutting in a dark area. Unlike the days when an LED light could be found on just about EVERY tool, I feel like I went back in time. This one is not for me. As a result, I find myself reaching for my old model more often than I would like.

On a positive note, this new model is built much more solidly than the old one. Moreover, it is bigger & more powerful Yes, the vibration is heavier, but it is much less. The tool has a high level of quality. It is really hard for me to give this tool a score of 4 or 5 stars because they need to redesign the quick-click feature This can only be accomplished by changing the feature and bringing back the LED light. In terms of its quality, the quick-turn around A great feature is the ability to change things. Unfortunately, it's located in a very bad part of town.
