I've become a big fan of Bosch tools in the last few years, and this multi-tool is one of my favorites. Most of the features of this tool are impressive. Bosch produces excellent quality products that are well-made, heavy duty, and feature quality manufacturing to match with their reputation. Nevertheless, I had to work on sanding and scraping a houseful of old, beat up storm windows to prepare them for installation, and the detail sander was really needed to help me with that task. This tool doesn't come with a sandpaper or a sanding head, which means it will be My use of every sheet of sandpaper vibrated me right off the head in less than two minutes. The sandpaper would not stick regardless of how much pressure I used, how many angles I used, or how many angles I tried. My background was professionally painting houses for many years and I owned two painting businesses, so I like to think I know what I'm doing but I couldn't do this. Second of all I first purchased the blades when they were very expensive, and they keep going up in price. At the time I am writing, the carbide plunge blades cost $15 each. I bought them for $10 each when I purchased the tool, which was still a princely sum for a highly disposable item. My only regret is that I wish it wasn't worth the price to avoid dealing with dull blades without having to buy replacements because I find myself reaching for other tools that can carry out the task at a slower pace because I don't want to keep buying expensive.

The starlock system (the fact that it is compatible with other brands of blades) sold me on the product due to its advertised versatility. Bosch starlock blades are the only ones that can be used. These are the most expensive ones as well. The blades appear to be good quality, but they can take a beating if you hit a nail when cutting wood. The blades cost around $30 per set. It'd be nice to have a harbor freight oscillating tool if I had the chance to do it again. You can use the standard oscillating blade with it, as it's largely a copy of the fein. It would be great if somebody reads this and saves a couple hundred dollars.

I am quite pleased with how quiet this unit is in comparison to the one I previously owned. This tool has enough power, and it can be set to a variable speed on the outside. Because when you're at a tight spot it can be difficult to see sometimes, I love the led light. I have always been pleased with how Bosh performs.
