Questions & Answers

Do you think I need to get a second job to pay for this, or would a quick refi on my house suffice?

You may want to consider finding a local sweatshop where your kids could work to pay off your shop tool debt if you have kids

In the description, it says this is a domino set, but it doesn't mention cross stops and trim stops. Can you tell me if these are Thanks so much. ?

You gain access to those items as part of the domino set In the combination set you will find A Domino DF 500 with a 566DXC processor In this set you will find Joiner Plus, DOMINO cutter D 5mm, Support Bracket, Operating Tool, Trim Stop, Cross Stop, Plug An It Power Cord, and a There are two storage containers in the LOC Systainer #2. *br>Only one set of cutters is included with each assorted side of the domino tenon or you can purchase As I have used all sizes of cutters, they are essential when working with wood of different thicknesses. In addition to using of the mahogany tenons for furniture, I have ordered them for outdoor projects as well. It is a very expensive tool, but I cannot imagine using anything else.

Using the tool to cut shutter mortises at an angle is possible?

The set is equipped with a pivoting fence. The fence makes angled mortises from 0 to 90 degrees The stop is at 22 degrees, so 90° is positive. A low of 5°, a high of 45°, and a low of 67°. A 5-degree angle. Thanks! I hope you find this helpful. Beaver Industrial Supply would like to thank you,

For the first time I'm buying tools for woodworking. Would this or the biscuit cutter be a better choice since they are both ?

Depending on what you're doing, you may or may not find that comfortable. When I first started, I bought a biscuit cutter and used it to make panels. Since then, I have been using dowel pins, and I am looking forward to possibly purchasing For this reason I would like to build chairs with mortise and tenon joints. Dowel pins would be the only ones I would use if not for this. It was as simple as that to make my first self-centering drill jig. The process is more time-consuming, but it is superior to biscuits, and it is much cheaper Under $100 is a great price for a jig.

Selected User Reviews For Festool 574432 Domino Joiner DF 500 Q Set

Are you sure it is perfect? Is it expensive? Is it a good deal? A definite yes if you can afford to do so! I had a hard time deciding since the price was so high and I hadn't had great experiences with Festool products in the past
4/5

Later on, I'll discuss that in more depth. Using the spacer tabs and guides included with this set, this machine allows you to make fast, accurate and repeatable cuts. This is a relatively easy tool to use, but there are some quirks. Make sure you read the manual before using it, as you don't want to screw up your Considering that this set only comes with a 5mm cutter, it's worth mentioning that it is quite expensive. You will need to purchase the 4,6,8 and 10mm cutters in order to get the most from the tool. A combo package that gets you these cutters and a tenon assortment will cost you an additional few hundred dollars, so you'll be spending close to $1,500 overall. While not cheap, it does fulfill a number of unique and versatile tasks that will boost shop efficiency enough to justify the cost. Their connector kit is not just helpful when it comes to making loose tenon joints, but is also useful for anyone who makes knockdown These connectors are revolutionary and are far superior to any other ready-to-assemble harness or fastener system on the market. In my opinion, the overall design of the site is excellent, but I have a few complaints. I find the power switch flimsy, and it looks like it belongs on an off label angle grinder, without a doubt, not on a tool that costs $1,000. In light of the above, it is fairly easy to identify the second issue, which concerns the Depending upon your skill level, it is quite easy to push the cutter into the workpiece while pressing the power switch on while a machine is working, so lock the power switch on before placing the machine on the work piece. Nevertheless, you ought to use caution when you place the machine if you accidentally press too hard on the handle, you might damage The reason I prefer a paddle switch is because it allows me more control. The third and final flaw is the ridiculous removable power cord. Festool fanboys will argue that this is a genius feature since it enables you to plug in only one power cord and simply swap it from your Domino to your sander or whatever else you wish to use. If you own a shop full of Festool brand tools, it makes perfect sense, but in the real world where most of us have a shop full of different brands, this feature is useless. There is just one more thing to attach and another possible point of failure. I would prefer a permanently attached cord to keep it from being damaged in the event Festool uses components of questionable quality. Although I have some complaints with the Domino, I really do like it. After a few weeks, I have gotten used to its quirks, and it has improved my productivity. There's no way to tell whether a product will last. Since my only other experience with Festool is a sander that pooped out quickly, I'm not confident in the build quality of Festool products. There's also no way to hide the fact that the Domino's body looks like a Chinese angle grinder for twenty dollars. Thankfully, there is a decent warranty included with it. The August 2019 update is attached. As a result of relatively light use after a couple of months, I had to experience Festool's warranty service. I had to replace the motor and the cheap Horror Freight power switch. It's good to know that the warranty service there Visiting the website, completing the service form, and getting a shipping label was easy and convenient. I found the process to be very simple The 2 day turnaround time of Domino is not an exaggeration. Based on UPS tracking info, the Domino was in their hands less than 48 hours after I collected it. This kind of service definitely helps justify their high prices.

The disappointment in me is great
3/5

After seeing what Photo 3 showed, I spent a few minutes searching for other bits in the box until I came to an obvious conclusion I am the stupid, so I wrote a sensational review which won't pass the Amazon test, so Amazon has called me Profane. The truth is, I am guilty. I tried it out and I was very pleased with what I saw. However, on the 6th try, I found that the octopus slots on walnut were too short. My depth was adjusted from 15mm to 20mm and the photos 1 and 2 demonstrate the change. The machine got very hot during this process. My problem is that I read every question and answer and am not able to figure it out. In order to return anything, I had to contact the company I bought it from. When I asked Amazon for a replacement, they asked the reasons and informed me I could only return to Thanks for letting me know I printed out a label for my In an email I received today from Amazon, it stated they won't have a replacement for the item. According to your request, I would love to create the replacement you requested. However, I noticed that the item was sold by a seller listed on our website. Since the seller's inventory is constantly changing, the system won't allow me to create the replacement you requested. While I am writing the review, The Amazon shows "there are two left, order soon. ". " I hope you understand.

The investment is worthwhile, because it is dangerously useful
5/5

I can't imagine how useful, excellent, and practical this piece of equipment could be. The tool offers functionality that no other maker of tools can match, and Festool did a superb job. Two pieces of wood can be joined by many other means than this tool. With $50 worth of hand tools and a really perfect technique, you can make it work without this tool as well. My main reason for buying this machine is that it allows me to be highly accurate, extremely fast, and almost entirely eliminates ruining workpieces and having to start over with parts of projects after spending extra money on more material. One of my projects can be assembled in one day It would have taken me 20 minutes with my Domino if I had spent 2 hours with it I worked on the project for more than 30 hours, using a combination of power and hand tools. The other benefit is that I have a great deal of space in the garage saved as well. It would be unnecessary for me to have a bunch of jigs and sleds just for cutting tenons, or even a mortiser setup and a plunge router You have a great sense of humor there. The pros are In addition to saving time, this tool is incredibly accurate, so I don't have to worry about ruining work pieces. It also helps me save shop space on all of the tools I would need to reproduce the functionality. An amount large enough to upset the balance of a marriage.

As a Festool fan, I would like to say
4/5

am aware that Festo polarizes people between supporters justifying paying the premium and strong haters who are disappointed that Festo didn't draft a more eloquent ad. As an owner of a semi professional company, I am a huge fan of Festo's 2nd generation product. Despite 12 years of use, I still haven't had a Festo device fail except for my first drill's batteries and I hold Festo devices to be superior in terms of function, built-in settings, rulers, and vacuum efficiency. In light of this, I delayed buying the Domino 500Set since the price is steep and having to switch to original Festo dowels would be a long-term tax on me. After much consideration, I decided to start a new project. Based on my experience, the Domino is everything it advertises to be, A repeatable task that is clean, fast, and precise. During the The configured settings make it possible to We're up and changing the size of dowels in a snap. Out of the box, the guardrails and indicators are well designed and calibrated correctly. Festo tools are excellent at capturing vacuum, as is the case for most of their products. My favorite dowel for most projects is the pseudo square dowel over the half square dowel or biscuit. Could there be a reason for not giving It would be great if there is not a trend to overcharge on price for new Festo machines and underwhelm on quality of the components/attachments.
