Selected User Reviews For DEWALT Die Grinder, Straight (DWMT70783)
As of now, I would say it has earned its keep in my tool box and has been one of the better purchases I've Occasionally I oil it, and the lower unit wants to unscrew, so I put a lock-tight on it and have been happy with it Even though its bearings are showing signs of wear, it has last so many years longer than most die grinders we have in our shop that I cannot complain about it.
Neither the collet nor the nut are The review update is as follows I will give the grinder 4 stars after using it for 8 hours over the course of a couple of days. I like this little grinder a lot. It has been confirmed by the manufacturer that at this time no 1/8" collet is available as an accessory or included.
I purchased an 1/8" collet from AES via Amazon, which works nicely.
The die grinder would have to be modified for use with Briggs & Stratton Installing an older Stratton engine on a John Deere lawn tractor so that the original ignition armatures can be replaced. With the bits I also bought I was able to make the modifications on the aluminum easily using the Dewalt Die Grinder. It is compact in size and is easy to use. Dewalt has a nice, solid feel to it, and I did not have any trouble setting it up before first using it. Furthermore, the 1/4" threads to which the rubber inverted cap is attached are underneath the 1/4" threads. It was a mistake for me to remove that piece initially. Please find attached. We will see how the long term durability of this product is affected by the fact that it's made in China. I have had good luck with other Dewalt products in the past and this one looks like it will last a long time.
When I bought it, I thought the plastic would be a good idea, as it would reduce shock when I dropped it. Although its cleaning from that messy encounter was not too difficult, the results were not spectacular. It is almost impossible to clean it due to the textured surface. A metal-bodied IR unit is the best option in my opinion. The slimmer body of these speakers may make them more adaptable to changes in body position due to the fact that they get dinged up more often and look like their beat badly in little more than a year, but they deliver better air control and are easier to clean.
I've spent quite a few hours playing with it and still enjoy I have noticed that it uses a lot less air than my other grinders. Compared to some other lever locks I own, this one works very well. It is comfortable and easy to control thanks to its textured body.
It takes quite a bit of effort to keep flipping the lock out tab every time you use it (so if you drop it or set it on its side it won't turn on). Taking this precaution is a good idea, but it places a huge burden on you. However, it is well built. This one is being kept.
For 40 dollars, I can buy a much worse brand at a major tool store chain near my house. With this, you get twice the quality and twice the durability for half the price. They are used at an used tire store, so they can withstand a lot of abuse. The outstanding item & the outstanding concept A valuable resource.
