This grinder is pretty good. Astro products seem to be worth a lot of money because they always seem to offer great value. The build quality was even better than I'd expected for the price. No matter whether you wear gloves or not, this rubber grip feels good in your hand and will reduce hand and wrist pain. It is tiring to hold an arm. The level of noise is also quite low for a grinder at this price point. It is not super powerful, but that is its only con. In my experience, it works well for removing paint and coatings when used with a roloc disc or a With a 3" Roloc, it is a bit underpowered for weld grinding, so I use another grinder for that job. Edit
Using the 2" 24 grit ROLOT discs, I have found that this grinder works really well for grinding welds, and I am actually so fond of these discs over the 3" discs I have never tried them. Although I can use my more powerful grinder that has those features, I have been using this more and more even when I have a lot of welds to grind down. It is comfortable and reasonably quiet while grinding, so I use it more and more.
As a comparison, I'm talking about Harbor Freight die grinders and air powered cutoff wheels that leave you frustrated and engrossed because they use so much air and get so bogged down. am not familiar with the higher levels of HF die grinders, but I suggest skipping the cheaper Compared to an ordinary air grinder, this Astro Onyx angled air grinder (with selected roloc attachments) is easy to control at different speeds, convenient with air, and handles the job well. A combination of hand sanding and 4 inch roloc sanding disks could only achieve an improvement of 1000x, but this method is 1000x better. I am currently using a 5 inch electric angle grinder with a sanding pad, or Dremels that I previously used for There is a Quincy 20 gal compressor I'm using to run it, which puts out possibly 7 psi. Despite running at 2 CFM and 90 psi, no problem running out of air has been encountered. It will be 20 minutes until the compressor kicks in I haven't had a pressure drop among the running compressors while they are running for 30 seconds. The tool has been used for sanding SMC and structural adhesives, both of which are pretty easy to sand and do not need to be run continuously for more than a few.
It was time to change the Astro pneumatic, as my last one had served me for 21 years of hard work. My first impression is that I'm as pleased with this one as I was with the first one. The fact that this one is about half as loud and more ergonomic makes it an even better choice. The torque is good with no power loss. As an added benefit, the composite body doesn't touch the metal surface as much after several minutes of continuous use as my old metal body tool did.
A new tool from Astro that is impressive. The car runs smoothly, isn't obnoxiousy loud, and features As a result, it is considerably heavier than an.
The quality of the product is excellent. The brands of tool trucks are just as good as the ones we use. There's no way I can top this. There is plenty of power and it is quiet as a whisper.
I was very surprised with this little tool. It works very well and I use it every day in the shop. It doesn't blow air in your face, it fits comfortably in your hand, and I would recommend it highly to anyone else.
Everything seems to be going well so far. There was no difference between the cheaper brands and the more expensive ones. Compared to other expensive stuff, this performs well.
I am a structural welder and machinist here and this is my third die grinder from this company, and I have been very satisfied thus I would recommend it. The wrenches provided should only be tightened to a certain degree. My only complaint is that the teeth on the small ends of all the wrenches broke off. Otherwise it is perfect.
