Product Description

Automatic Speed Change technology optimizes performance by adjusting speed and torque while in operation.
If the wheel's rotation is suddenly forced to stop, Active Feedback-Sensing Technology (AFT) shuts down the motor.
The BL Brushless Motor does away with carbon brushes, allowing it to run cooler and more efficiently, resulting in a longer life.
Efficient BL Brushless motor is electronically controlled for up to 50% longer run time per charge.
The electronically controlled BL Brushless Motor makes efficient use of energy by matching torque and RPM to the application's changing demands.

Questions & Answers

What is the difference between the Makita XAG04z and the Makita XAG09z (the main question is whether there is a difference in power)?

Brake on the blades

Will this work with a 3 amp (18v Makita) battery? If that's the case, how will it compare to a 5 amp battery?

Yes, it will work with a 3 amp power supply. 4 amp batteries are also used by me. The main distinction is the amount of time the tool will run at full capacity. 3 amps may be sufficient depending on your needs and the length of time you intend to grind. I keep two backup batteries charged on the dual fast charger. If the grinder is used at full load almost constantly, it will take two batteries to empty before one is fully charged. Don't get me wrong: I believe this is an excellent tool.

Is it true that these tools come with a free 5. Makita is offering a 0ah battery?

In the description, it says "tool only." There is no mention of a free battery anywhere on the site.

Optional "rubber pad 115" and "sanding lock nut 5/8-inch" are required for the makita xag04. The abrasive (cut off) disk measures 48 inches in diameter. I'd like to buy some of these, but I'm not sure where I can find them part s?

If you can't find what you're looking for on EBay, go straight to Makita!

Another fantastic addition to the Makita 18V LXT lineup
5/5

I know I should wait longer before writing a review for something like this, but if it breaks or has other issues during the warranty period, I will update my review. This is the most recent addition to my Makita 18V LXT tool collection. I have a 7 1/2 circular saw, an 18V X2 chainsaw, a drill driver, an impact driver, and a fantastic light that I received as a Christmas present. All of them have made me very happy. They outperformed my expectations by a long shot. This system has come a long way since the days of NiCad cordless tools. I understand that getting started is costly, but take the plunge. You will not be disappointed with the performance of these 18V LXT tools. br>br>Now let's talk about the angle grinder. I was concerned that it wouldn't be sturdy enough to cut 1/4" sheet with my cut off wheels. There's no issue at all. I also used it right away to cut out two-thirds of a sheet of paper. As grates in my burn barrels, I cut 20" circles out of 10 gauge expanded metal. There isn't a single issue. One cut wheel was completely worn out, and the next one was only a quarter worn out. After that, I switched to the grinding wheel and ground down a few of my faulty welds. In fact, it improved the appearance of my poor welding; ) I already had plenty of batteries, so I paid just under $100 for the bare tool. I may never use my corded angle grinder again because this one was well worth the money.

Brushless motors are an investment that pays off
5/5

It has been upgraded. We're on our second Makita 18V grinder, and we're very happy with it. The other one is still in use and has been for a while, but it isn't Brushless. br>br>We prefer the brushless to the non-brushless. Brushless motors are preferred because our grinders see a lot of use, and they last longer and require less maintenance. br>I like that I can remove the handle and switch handle sides, and that changing the disc is also simple. Any discs we've tried so far fit perfectly in the grinder.

In terms of cordless grinders, this is the most cost-effective option
5/5

Both Milwaukee and Makita cordless and corded tools are in high demand. So when I needed a new grinder, I knew I needed one that was cordless, brushless, and from one of these two companies. I had previously owned a brushed Milwaukee and disliked it, so I switched to the brushless Fuel version, which is far superior. However, I couldn't ignore the $60 price difference between the Milwaukee and this Makita when comparing the two, so I chose the Makita. I have to say, after using it for several weeks to grind and cut steel, I am impressed. It is an excellent tool! On a 5, it has plenty of power. 0 battery life and can be used intermittently for several days without draining it. It's not that much heavier than the corded models with the 5. 0 and being able to work without being tethered is fantastic. You can, of course, keep running the Milwaukee until the cows come home with the 12. Despite the fact that it has no battery, who wants to transport such a monstrosity? The XAG09Z for the electric brake will be my next purchase; it's worth the extra $25 to be able to simply set it down after turning it off rather than waiting for the wheel to spin down or grinding on something to stop it. Sorry, Milwaukee, but I don't see why you should pay the extra money for the Fuel unless you need the extra runtime and don't mind carrying the extra weight.

The Makita AC battery-powered grinder is extremely portable and powerful
5/5

This grinder works so well that it's difficult to tell the difference between it and my corded grinder. I like how the battery power doesn't require a drop cord, so I can use it wherever I want. It does deplete the three. I recommend using 5 batteries because 0 runs out quickly. Batteries with a rating of 0 or higher are recommended.

It's extremely useful, but it eats batteries at a rate that's nearly as fast as it grinds
4/5

Makita LXT 18 volt tools are among the tools I own. This one is no exception to the rule of high quality. I've been using it to smooth out cement patches, and it's both powerful and quiet. I haven't needed ear protection in a long time. My only gripe is how quickly we deplete batteries. I use 2. For all of my tools, I use 0 AH batteries. They're small and light, and they'll run for a long time on the other tools, including the chain saw, for most jobs. However, just a few minutes of use with this grinder depletes a 2 AH battery. To use in this tool, I ordered a 4 AH battery that should last twice as long. That'll keep it short, but it'll be much more useful. br>br>Aside from that, it's yet another great Makita LXT tool.

There are plenty of them
5/5

Expect it to perform differently than your corded grinder, but it will certainly exceed your expectations. Has enough power to handle the majority of grinding jobs around the house and in a small shop or garage. It's difficult to beat the convenience of a cordless phone.

It was purchased in a used/as-new condition
5/5

I use this on all of my projects that require an angle grinder, and I've put the corded one away for good. I don't have to deal with any more cords; all I have to do now is grab this and go. This device is both powerful and portable. This is a very solid construction. Even on a 3, it lasts quite a while. Battery with a capacity of 0 Ah.

This is a nice small grinder
5/5

This grinder (with battery) is a little bulky and heavy, but because it's portable, I use it all the time. This is the tool only; no battery is included; however, if you already own Makita 18 volt tools, chargers, and batteries, it's a great addition. Mine is a favorite of mine, and I would suggest it to others.
