Questions & Answers

Do you know whether this glue works well in Franklin Hi-Productor Steel Glue Gun?

Since the cartridge of this glue gun is the same, I would assume that it will perform similarly based on the fact that I have not used this glue brand on my glue gun

What does this process look like? There is a special application gun for heating it up, isn't there? There are only tubes of glue on Amazon I cannot locate the glue itself. ?

There is a heated system in which the tube is included. Perhaps 18 months ago, Franklin stopped carrying the application and As the adhesive is phased out, it is becoming easier to use. It won't take long before 3M's much more expensive (and better) system becomes the only version of this.

The half of it is great, but that is only I think this is the best glue on the market, but it is also very expensive, so let me explain why If you have ever used a caulking gun before, then you are probably familiar with the fact that once it builds up pressure, the caulking continues to come out even after the plunger has been stopped
3/5

After the caulking tube itself is highly pressurized, it is removed from the caulking gun. Thus, let's take the same issue and apply it to a much smaller cartridge, since it takes a staggering amount of force to break the glue seal of these cartridges, once the cap is off. In fact, the air gap inside the cartridge (when the cap is on) is enough to cause the glue at the very tip of the cartridge to harden. Having said that, let me give you a general overview of what I intend to address 1) I broke There is a considerable amount of Cyano-acrylate in this adhesive — or super glue, if you will — which has the affect of forming a strong immediate bond, prior to the urethane surrounding it drying. To sum it up, the glue gun was broken. It was Because the seal in the cartridge requires more pressure than the body of the handle can sustain, the top of the handle split because the screws that lock it together reach only into weak and tiny posts. A company like Steinel would make such a weak compromise with their design does not impress me. The only way to tell how weak it is is when it breaks and you see it on the inside. Aside from the glue gun-- FI needs to seriously figure out how to do this it affects every single cartridge, not just a few randomly chosen 2) The cartridge design is poor, in so far as once you stop squeezing the plunger with notches does nothing. No matter how hard you try, it keeps pouring out. An average of about 10 percent of a 50 gram cartridge is wasted by this process. Once you squeeze, you have to apply pressure in order to get the item out, and the operation does not stop until about 10 seconds later. When you see the money you spent on it go down the drain, it's very frustrating. I'd rather use a $5 tube of caulking than a $30 tube. Before you spend over $140 on this purchase, you might want to take a look at this review first.

You should always keep the caps on tubes that have cooled off
5/5

I have seen a drastic change in my business operations since purchasing this product. End grain glue is the only glue I use for miters almost exclusively, and I can't tell you how I would manage without it. If you are one of the critics who claims that glue tubes only last one time, please read the following There's something wrong with the way you're doing it. I've had tubes in the gun for months at a time, heating, using, and cooling them all many times a day without a problem. Always carefully remove the cap from a tube that has not reached the right temperature. You should always keep the caps on tubes that have cooled off. My only job is to do that and I've never had a problem, A cool temperature, as well as moisture, is crucial to polymer curing. Stay away from those, and no problems will arise. Heat guns can lengthen cure times that occur in humid or cool areas. Applying a heat gun to surfaces receiving glue will enhance cure times. It's hard to make any corrections with bond, since it is fast and permanent. You can re-heat materials with a heat gun When the glue dries, you can go back and clean it up for a few minutes, but that's about all the time you'll have to undo the glue. The squeeze out must be removed as soon as possible. In addition to pulling off what I can when the glue turns opaque as it cures, I also use an electric knife to remove small pieces. After heating any small amount with a heat gun and wiping it off, I clean up any squeeze out. In contrast, joints cure very quickly without clamping, as opposed to curing overnight. There is no question about it.

The product is great
3/5

I love the product. It is a great product. It describes a It is permanent and easy to use Glue is a good idea. What I don't like about this product is that once the tube is open, the shelf life isn't enough (for me) before it starts to dry Unless I am planning a big project, or if I have accumulated enough little projects to warrant buying a tube, I don't buy it. Any tube that I could use looks to be wasted if it has dried out before I have used it. The product would become a staple I always keep in the house if it had a longer shelf life.

A wonderful way to fill gaps
5/5

It is an unbelievably nice joint and it cannot be seen from the outside. It is one of the best glues in terms of all the drying times. The new uses I have come up with every time I run into a bonding problem are constantly surprising me. In the course of installing engineered click flooring, a sideways transition from one room to another and under door casings presented a problem. Remove the bead on one board by just slipping it under the female joint with a shoulder plane. Spread glue on the glue setting surface, slide it in and hold it for the time it takes for the glue A wonderful way to fill gaps. This is an unbelievable joint and can't even be seen. You can trim the excess glue easily. I know this will cost a lot and that it won't remain fresh when it's open and stored, but I am If you cannot justify its cost for the project you are doing, do not use this adhesive. Keep in mind it is for big jobs and commercial applications. The product is fantastic in combination with other adhesives. I used this product to install RAT cabinets from the ground up and to build a kitchen. The results are remarkable.

This glue does the job and does it well
4/5

A whole tube of this product is all I need on a good day when I have enough work to use it up. If a partially used tube has cooled and been resealed, it's hard to start it up. Using a drill, I take out the cooled plug from the neck of an old tube in order to get to the remaining portion of the You may have to try this about half the time, but it won't hurt. As a result, this glue has an exceptionally strong adhesion and a fast set time. You only need to hold the pieces together with hand pressure for a minute and then you're done.

The price here is excellent
5/5

I bought the adhesive at a local store before, but the stock was always old and the price was slightly higher. By purchasing from Amazon, I was able to get a fresh product at a low price.
