Questions & Answers

As you have indicated, I see the comments about additional (smaller) tips to make the work more precise. Would you mind telling me exactly which ones I need and where I can purchase ?

There's a smaller tip that comes with it, but I've never really used it. I prefer the standard tip

The glue flows out in a continuous stream. Is it possible to adjust its flow?

When you squeeze the trigger lever, a hot glue stick will be automatically advanced within the tool. The harder you squeeze the trigger lever, the faster the glue will start to feed from As soon as you let go of the trigger, the flow ceases.

What type of glue sticks does it use? Do you want a long or a short version?

Using 7/16 inch as a standard would be OK. As you may be surprised, you will be able to put together a glue stick in less than a minute with a glue gun that goes through a standard glue stick constantly. It is not unusual for me to work through three or more projects at once Four sticks 10 inches long in a short amount of time. This is an excellent firearm.

I was wondering what the AC rating of this product was A 240AC(NZ) home. Would you please accept my sincere ?

The voltage operating on this device is 110 to 120 volts.

I used the 3watt gun that a friend of mine gave me to glue some pine cones together for a wreath for the Christmas door
5/5

My thought was, surely there's a better one out there. As you read the reviews on the Dewalt HD, you kept moving up the scale towards this model. In the Euro style cabinet shop, I saw the cabinet guy gluing the drawer fronts on using hot glue and lining them up (I thought hot glue guns were for crafts). He slid the drawer open and screwed the panels on once they looked straight. But the glue had not hardened yet. They were easier than how I did them last time, trying to clamp them to a board. Almost twice as fast. I used ca glue to glue some returns on molding for window valences and it was easier than CA My guess is that it lasts just as long as any other type The glue was made runnier by increasing the heat. need to stick on some granite backsplashes, and I will use this instead of pl2000 or liquid nails, which are slower I saw a small blob of smoke around 1/4 inch when the gun heated up, but that's had been on for at least an hour, and there was no more drip. It was really better when I had the wire stand on, so I took it off. Once it reaches full heat, it takes a few minutes to cool down. It's great that the case can also be reused otherwise it can be trashed in the back of a van, and there is a space in the case for glue sticks extra. This is what I like.

The feeding of sticks is poor when they are changed
3/5

In the case of my problem, I encounter it when I begin to use My jobs typically require me to use more than one stick of glue, and I'm hurrying to get everything down before the glue sets up on the first part of the piece. The gun does not just grab the stick and send it out when I insert a new one. The feeder will not grab hold of it until I squeeze it manually for two to three times. I find it frustrating to have both hands full, as I am trying to cover as much glue as possible Apart from that, it is adequate. I have now noticed it dripping a lot when I set it down, to the point where I have to leave a piece of cardboard under the nozzle. Uninstalled the software on 6/12/18. I pulled this out to use on something so large it would require two guns. It still drips like crazy. *Update 2/4/2019
I used this on a very large project that required two guns. If you want the Surebonder 220, spend a few dollars more.

We are a strong industrial company! The HB220 hot glue gun I am using is my second
5/5

A superb tool. I don't know how I ever got along without it. This is almost a necessity for me as a hardwood flooring contractor. It heats quickly, delivers the correct amount of glue as needed, and is able to stay When nails aren't an option, this is a great alternative. My usual method is to use urethane glue in conjunction with it to ensure a lasting No matter what the piece is to be nailed or glued, the nail should be snug. This is an important consideration when the piece is too small to be nailed. Despite my best efforts, I did not have a success with my first gun.

Applying tack strips to concrete might not be the best idea
4/5

A concrete floor was to be covered with tack strip and I used this to do so. A glue gun will probably not be enough to handle this project since it requires a lot of glue in a short period of time. The PAM HB220 glue gun is great for heating the glue and does not take more than a minute to heat up before it begins It is convenient that the gun has an on/off switch so that the heat can be turned on and off without unplugging In my case, I figured that I would need a large amount of glue fast because I would be using three foot In my case, I experienced some issues because of my application, but they may not be problems for other programs. While the stand with three foot pieces built in is a good idea, I could not set it quickly when I was in a hurry (and I was frequently in a hurry, since all the glue had to be on and the three foot pieces had to be adjusted Also, I had to set it at a high temperature to get enough flow of glue, but I had to make sure to keep it over something that would not be damaged by the glue drips that occur (the glue dropped popped right off of the concrete as It was necessary to put a new glue stick in frequently because the glue sticks were only a relatively short length while I was trying to get the glue all over the three feet of tack strip. I found that the glue gun was not the best solution for my application, despite it working well. No glue gun is going to be suitable for this task, as I mentioned previously. This product handled its job well and performed well overall. Despite its built-in electronics, it looks extremely durable and should last for many years.

I pulled the trigger and the gun went off The gaseous state A foul smell emanates from it
3/5

The Pam HB220 is the second glue gun I've owned. Thinking an expensive adjustable temperature gun would make my work faster and better, I bought it. The case is made of sturdy plastic. It looks like a nice In your hand, it feels good it heats glue fast, and it dissolves We felt the money we spent was As I started smelling something like a bad air freshener, I thought it was a bad air freshener. Can you tell me where that came How do the glue sticks work? Not at all. Did you glue the material I was working with? It doesn't work that way The gun itself caused the explosion In what way? In a very short period of time, it was over This is powerful. Into the house I went. Added the windows to the open list. This smell is so bad that I was hoping it would dissipate after a few hours In the end, it didn't work. As soon as I contacted Amazon Customer Service, they were very helpful Returning it was the right thing to do. Replacing it was sent out as soon as possible. Within seconds of opening the case, and before I had even turned on the gun, I realized it had the same odor. Once again, Amazon got it back (thanks). It wouldn't be a good idea for you to visit a museum if you dislike smelly things like I am.

This is a great Upon first inspection, the design appears well thought out and the heater heats up fairly quickly
5/5

The heat can also be controlled, and the outside of the gun remains at a reasonably cool I like how the Feed system works, and it's incredibly easy to use. This glue gun has a switch for on/off, the stand works well, and it does not bog down due to lack of heating. I think this is a nice tool all in all.

Everything that needs to be done by a flooring contractor is done with this
5/5

I urge you to buy this if you are on the fence. Buying glue for this will save your life when it comes to keeping a straight line. Snap a line and warm up the Floor may be laid at openings like a long hallway, an entry way, etc. Lay 18 inches deep If you have a 24 inch glue spread (depending on your board width), you will need 3 tubes There are 4 rows of boards and scrap pieces attached with hot glue at the seams. Three times is all you need You can go home or move on to another job when you have finished 4 rows. Within the next day, you can install the planks both directions with no worry of them being out of square. I'd like to thank you for your time.
