Product Description

The package #2 kits includes the following items Table, 36 Inch Fence, 2 Molded Flip Stops, 2 Knuckle Clamps, and A drill press with 12 inch and larger wheels is designed for use with this product.
This Micro-Dot table has a sturdy MDF core covered in a specially designed Micro-Dot laminate. It measures 16 x 23 inches. The workpiece is less likely to get stuck to the table since this reduces surface tension.
The fence will be attached with our dual purpose T-Trail - we embed two sections at the attachment point for the T-Track. For wear resistance, the track is anodized, and measurement scales are laser engraved on it.
THE 36 INCH FENCE - There is a bracket that slides into the embedded track along the middle of the fence. The fence is engraved with zero in the middle. Smoothly sliding and securely locking, the fence brackets provide a solid foundation for the fence.
The optional extras include a tearout-eliminating filler block, molded flip stops, and knuckle clamps that adjust to fit a wide range of stock thicknesses and shapes.

Questions & Answers

Do you have any instructions on how to attach this ?

Yes, of course. From a piece of 3/4" plywood, make a smaller "sacrifice" base that attaches to the table of your drill press. Then, you can attach the Woodpecker to the sacrifice piece with wood screws through the bottom of the sacrifice piece. Be careful to use screws that won't penetrate the top of the sacrifice piece.

The table is intended to be used with the Wen 4214 drill press. Do I need to make any changes or modifications for it to attach?

The drill press I am using is not the same. Wen is a name I have never heard of.

The report has been reissued Is the centering of the 36" adjustable fence entirely visual, or do you have a detent to center it?

There is no text in it. On the 36" scale, the 0 points are in the center, and 18 are on the left and right That's right. A square can be placed on the back fence, then the edge can be placed on the outside of the drill bit, and the center of the project can then be found by moving the drill bit half the width.

The two tables in this pack are separate, or are they part of a two-pack?

There is no need to buy a separate table. The kit includes a table and two t-shirts The fence has tracks (in addition to it). It's unclear to me who in their marketing department was in charge of their description, but it certainly wasn't I would not know what to do with a second table if it came with one, but it is still an extremely good table and fence combo.

This is a great table
5/5

There have been improvements to the method for installing, and here they are. I would give this product 5 stars because you can tell it's quality the moment you take it out of the box. Those who say it's 'pricey' shouldn't forget that if you make it yourself, it would cost the same or more if you bought it all. For installation of this drill press, you will need a piece of plywood. It is the case for "certain" drill presses. Ultimately, the purchaser has to drill holes and insert wood screws into the MDF material in both cases. When the screws are not held by the screws, they will weaken the material and will come loose over time, especially if you remove the drill press table. Below are a series of photos I took in order to show you how I installed the Porter Cable drill press I purchased at Lowe's. I just spent $85 on the drill press (hey, the drill press only cost me $85 LOL) This is one of those "old" tables that cannot be installed with the materials supplied. By installing this way on any table, there will be no holes drilled and no wood screws embedded in the top, making this installation much easier than the Woodpecker instructions. There is no need to drill any new holes. Its big plus is that the clamping is super secure. MDF bolts don't come out, so there are no wood screws to pull out. In addition, several wingnuts can be used to fasten the table so that it can be easily removed and reattached. Just purchase a few more bolts, wingnuts, screws, and washers for about $5 more. You should be able to accomplish this in no more than 1 hour if you have any skill at all. It may take over 1000 pounds of force to pull the finished table apart, but nothing will break or come loose. The mortising attachment that you can clamp to this will be perfect if you ever use this with Take eight countersink screws with a diameter of 14" and on the same tread, but 1/2 inch longer, as the ones holding the miter track in place on the table. The carriage bolts must be purchased in pairs of 4. Wingnuts (or nuts) and washers are attached to a 5" bolt. 1 *br To make the table top slightly smaller, cut a piece of 3/4 plywood just slightly smaller than the tabletop*2. Make holes in the plywood in the exact same spot where holes in the table top were drilled. You should use a chamfer bit to countersink screws in the holes along the side after the main screw hole has been drilled. Therefore, when the screws are tightened, the plywood will move beneath the screws. The third principle. Your cast iron top needs to have four holes drilled in it. Yes, it's a tricky part, but you'll find it to be much easier than you thought. You should ensure they are well away from the center hole of the cast iron table. The hole you drill should be a little larger than the bolt you use so that later it can be adjusted. The fourth paragraph. Invert the cast iron table with the holes drilled in it to match the holes in the table of the drill press and place it on the plywood. Place the Forsner bit the same size as the hole in the middle of the cast iron top which is located at the center of the plywood in the same hole as the center of the cast iron top to ensure the plywood is centered while the assembly is upside down. This is 5. You can drill the holes between the marked holes on the plywood after placing the four holes in the iron table. The sixth point. The top side of the plywood needs a Forsner bit the same diameter as the carriage bolts. Drill the bolts into it so the heads of the bolts will be below the surface when they're Prepare the plywood by putting the 4 carriage bolts in it. "* B . Lay the drill press table on top of the plywood and screw the channels for the fence tracks through the top. Everything should line up perfectly, and everything should be tightened. This is 8. The drill press table must fit through the holes you just made in the cast iron, and must be placed dead center on the table, before the screws can be tightened.

It would be great if you thought about the installation
5/5

The table was mounted using T-posts on a Jet table The slot machines. During positioning, four holes drilled 25 percent of the thickness of the table will provide a flat bottom for nuts and washers that are fastened from above and will keep them below the work surface if you drill them with a forstner bit instead of a brad point. The nuts on top will prevent overtightening, causing damage to the board. A well-thought-out design makes it possible to repeat the layout and get accurate results. I am very satisfied with the quality. Although it takes a few seconds to get used to this style of clamp, it is very effective once you do. It is nice to have the stops there. The taller fence may prove more convenient for me in the long run, but it does not mean there will be problems with the included one. All that matters is the application specifics. It's my pleasure to own a few Woodpecker products. They are always reliable and easy to use. Investing in this is well worth it.

For my existing drill press, I needed to fabricate more components to fit my new table
3/5

It seems a waste to buy a complete kit if you have to build it yourself? It came back to me since it states, deep within the assembly instructions, that if you have a slotted drill press table, you'll either have to drill holes in your existing drill press table or make an adaptor piece out of 3/4" plywood to mount the woodpeckers one. The grizzly G7947 drill press I use does not fit the item. As I bought this as a "ready to use" drill press table, I was hoping to save some time and energy. When I reach the point where I'll have to make another part of this to store it on my new drill press (no way am I going to drill holes in my existing drill press table), I'll In the end, I made my own table using two layers of 3/4-inch marine plywood and some formica I had lying around the shop to make a side table. I also ordered the "DP Track Kit" from Woodpeckers which is just like this exact back gauge and track In the process, I saved about $100 by installing the DP track kit in my table. It is hard to deny that the tracks with their rulers etched in have some value, and the stops function well, so the track kit is an easy choice. If you are living in a humid environment, a table made of 2 layers of marine plywood will last significantly longer than one made of MDF. There is a need for Woodpeckers to update their specifications Please read their instructions carefully To avoid people like myself from ordering this only to discover deep within the instructions that it won't work on their existing table, I have made this change. Woodpeckers needs to make one of two changes either they modify their table or they get the message.

This is a great product, but the design is a bit off
5/5

This is a great product, but the design is a bit off. I'm impressed with how well it's built and how fast and easy it is to assemble. Despite the adverse weather conditions, it anchors to the table firmly and the hold downs are superb. I have only one complaint, and I think it is a big one, that the zero mark on the T-shirt does not line up well with the mark on the ground These tracks have a zero on the fence, which makes them Until I measure from the front of the table, I'll have to line the fence up. This is the problem I was trying to solve with the.

Investing in this company has been the best decision This is the type of drill press table you need to have a nice flat surface
5/5

As I mentioned, I have a Porter Cable drill press, but the table was not designed to fit the press out After I took my round cast iron table and turned it up, I went to my room to put it away. I placed the new table top on the old one and drilled 4 , 1/2 inch holes into it, one in each T slot, centered it on the 3/8th inch hole. To clamp it down, I inserted the T slot nuts into the T slot grooves just below my drilled holes, then used a screw driver to reach through the 1/2 holes I drilled and lock the T slot nuts in place. I was able to use it without a hitch! It was a little more difficult than I expected to keep the T slot nut twisted so it would lock down, but I was able to hold it in place after a few moments. It was much easier for me to do that than to make In the directions, there is a table spoken of. I'm in love with.
