Product Description

The #2 package includes table, 36 inch fence, 2 molded flip stops, 2 knuckle clamps, and 1 filler block. This product is designed to fit drill presses with 12 inch and larger holes.
TABLE MICRO-DOT - When done right, this table has a 16 x 23 inch work surface covered on both sides with a unique Micro-Dot laminate. Your workpiece is less likely to slip off the table as a result of surface tension.
WE USE DUAL PURPOSES T-TRACK - We embed two sections of our dual purpose T-Track into our fence to create the attachment points. A laser-engraved scale is laser engraved on the track for measurement and to increase wear resistance.
FENCES WITH A 36-INCH BOLT - The fence has a bracket that slides in the embedded wood track and is engraved with the number zero in the middle. Despite the fence brackets sliding smoothly and locking securely, they remain in place.
Included are an integral filler block for eliminating tear-out, a molded flip stop, and knuckle clamps to work with a wide range of stock thickness and shapes.

Questions & Answers

Attached to the drill press table, how does this work?

Yes, of course. The sacrifice base you make is slightly smaller than your drill press's table and can be attached to the drill press's You will need to attach the woodpecker with wood screws through the bottom of the sacrifice piece into the bottom of the Woodpecker, being sure not to use screws that will penetrate

Do I need to fabricate anything or make any changes to attach this table to a Wen 4214 drill press?

My drill press is attached to a different machine. I have not heard of Wen before.

This article has been republished Does the 36" adjustable fence's centering rely entirely on visual awareness or is there a detent for it to center?

That's not the case. It's visual. A 36" scale starts at 0 inches in the center and goes 18 inches to the left and right I hear you. To find the center of a project, you can draw a square on the back fence, then put the edge of the square on one side of the drill bit, then move the drill bit half its width to find the center point.

This is a 2 pack of two separate tables, is it?

One table and two T- stands are included in the kit There are tracks in addition to the fence (Figure 1). They were certainly not very clear with their description, no matter who handled it in their marketing department. The table and fence are still a great combination, and there would not be any idea what to do with a second table if it came with it.

I enjoyed this table very much

It is possible to improve the installation method, and that's what we've done. A product like this is obvious when you take it out of the box and deserves a 5 star rating. Do the math and you would pay the same or more if you made it yourself if you have to buy all the parts for it. Usually a piece of plywood is required for the installation for some drill presses, others require a piece of structural steel. Both cases result in the purchaser drilling holes in the MDF material and screwing wood screws through them. When this occurs over time, the material will weaken making it impossible to hold the screws. This is especially true if you remove the drill press table. Below are photos I took of an installation method I used for a Porter Cable drill press that I bought at Lowe's. (hey, the drill press only cost me $85 lol) This is one of those "other" tables for which the supplied materials will have to be adapted. By installing it this way on any table, there are no holes to be drilled or wood screws to be put in the top, so it makes the installation easier than Woodpecker's instructions. The holes in the ground are used only where they exist. There are lots of positives to this clamp, the biggest of which is that any clamping will feel very secure, and no wood screws will be able to pull out of MDF. In addition, it can also be attached with wingnuts, so the table can be removed when need be, and reattached without any additional tools. To add bolts, wingnuts, screws, and washers, you only need to purchase about $5 more. This should take you no more than 1 hour to complete if you have any skill at all. Nothing will pull out, or come off, the completed table, even though it will be tested to over 1,000 pounds of force. If you're ever planning to use this with a mortising attachment and clamp to it, this is ideal. The countersink screws on the table are identical to those that hold down the miter track on the table, with just a half-inch more tread. Purchase 8 countersink screws with a diameter of 14 inches. The carriage bolts can be purchased in quantities of A set of wingnuts (or nuts) and washers is used to secure the bolt. This is *br1. To make the table top smaller, trim a 2 x 3 piece of plywood just slightly smaller than the top's width. so that they are placed in the same location as the holes in the top of the table. Use a chamfer bit for countersink screws in the holes along the side of the main hole after it has been drilled. As a result, when the screws are tightened, the screws will pull beneath the plywood. 1. 2. 3. In the top of your cast iron pot, drill four holes. You are right, this is the tricky part, but it is not as difficult as you may think. It is essential that they are at a reasonable distance from the cast iron table center. You may need to adjust the hole once it has been made, so make the hole larger than the bolt you intend to use. Item 4. Placing the cast iron table upside down on the plywood with hole-drilled holes matching those in the drill press table, glue the plywood to the cast iron In order to ensure that everything is centered when putting upside down, you can put a Forsner bit the same diameter as the center hole in the cast iron top in the same hole where the middle of the plywood is located. Put 4 holes in the plywood and drill them with the four holes you placed in the iron table. This is 6. Use a Forsner bit the same diameter as the carriage bolts on the top side of the plywood and drill down about 14" so the bolt head will be below the surface of the plywood Make sure the plywood is fastened with the four carriage bolts. This is 7. The drill press table should be placed on the plywood, then the screws should be driven into the fence track channels through the top. Everything should line up and be tightened. This is *br8. Align everything dead center, then screw the nuts or wingnuts into the cast iron table. Next, place the drill press table on the cast iron table through the holes you just made.

It was necessary to make more parts for my existing drill press in order to fit my table
3/5

What's the point of buying a complete kit if I will have to make my own? Despite the helpful assembly instructions, I had to return this product because it says that if you have a slotted drill press table you'll need to either drill holes in it to mount the Woodpeckers one, or make an adapter piece from There was no room on my Grizzly G7947 drill press for this drill press. As a matter of fact, I bought this table to save myself time and energy by buying a readymade drill press table. My plan is to build my own once I reach the point where I will have to construct another piece to mount this to my drill press (there is no way I am drilling holes in my existing drill press table). As a result, I built my own table out of 2 layers of 3/4" marine plywood and some formica I had laying around the shop and purchased the " DP Track Kit" from Woodpeckers, which is this exact set of track and back gauge. The DP track kit is what helped me save about $100 in the process of rearranging my table. As stated, I do feel the tracks with their rulers are useful, and the stops very well work, so I would label the track kit The life span of a table made of marine plywood is significantly longer than the life span of a table made of MDF, especially in humid environments. There is a need for Woodpeckers to update their spec sheet You can also find their instructions at the bottom of the page. The main goal of this is to prevent consumers like myself from rushing to buy the product only to find out during installation that it is not compatible with
Woodpeckers need to either modify their table for data validation or add new data to the table.

The table is beautiful, but think carefully about how you install it
5/5

A Jet table with a T-bracket was used for mounting this A slot. With the right layout, four holes drilled 25% of the table thickness deep with a forstner bit and the brad point drilled through them will establish a flat bottom for the nuts, washers, and bolts to be fastened from the top while keeping them below the This board is well designed and will help you avoid damaging the board by overtightening the nuts on top. Repeatable and accurate layout will be facilitated by this innovative design. The quality of the product is excellent. After you get used to this type of clamp, they are fine, but they do take a few minutes to get used to. It's great having the stops here. It is likely that I will purchase the taller fence, but that does not mean the included one will be ineffective. All the information is specific to the application. There are quite a few products from Woodpecker that never disappoint me, and this product is no different. Investing in the software is well worth it.

Despite its great potential, it suffers from some design issues
5/5

Despite its great potential, it suffers from some design issues. The assembly of the unit is straightforward and the construction is good. Besides the positive hold downs, the anchors effectively anchor the table to the ground. Having an issue with zero on the frame, and I think it is a significant one, there is no way to line it up with the frame. There are zeros on the fences on these tracks, which makes them Having yet to line up the fence, I will have to measure from the front of the table. With the help of this table I tried to address that.

Investing in this company was the best decision ever

You need a good firm, flat table for a drill press, so I bought this one. As I own a Porter Cable drill press, the table was not created to sit on top of it right out As soon as I removed my round cast iron table and turned it up, I was able to see- I then turned the table over and drilled 4 , 1/2 holes in it, one in each T slot, centered it on the 3/8th inch hole, then screwed it onto the As soon as I finished drilling my 1/2 inch holes, I tapped the T slot nuts inside the T slot grooves just below my drilled holes, then inserted a screwdriver through the 1/2 holes I drilled and locked them in. I had no problem with it. My T slot nut was a little difficult to twist so it would lock in place, but after a few seconds everything was in place and sealed up. It was more convenient for me to do that than to create the subheadings In the directions, it is mentioned that there is a table. am in love with.
