Fourteen months ago, I purchased this vacuum and have been very happy with The original filter, however, was filthy, even though I had cleaned it as best I could. The purpose of purchasing this filter was so I could have a backup while I investigate how to clean my existing one. Maybe every year I will just buy a new filter if it's hard to get a really clean one.
