My grizzly shaper has a dust port that is 3 inches in diameter. The 3" end of the shaper is the same width as the dust port. In order to keep everything in order, I bought a dust collector hose measuring 3" x 6". There's a Rockler store where I think it's sold. You are in good hands.
Take the time to carefully read the specs. Hose diameter from 4" to 3" can be connected to the fitting.
Although I have a dust collection system in my shop, I am not sure I use it.

My expectation was that this would fit over the 4 inch attachment, allowing it to be reduced to 3 inches. However, it is actually a 4 inch attachment, so it cannot fit over the tripod. The pipe could be 2 inches in diameter, or if you are like me, you can use duct tape to cover the gap. What I thought I'd be getting worked out wasn't what I got.
There is no need to rebutt the ends. Just slip the joint so that it can be sealed. What is the reason for.
Adapter of this quality is great. A good design and good quality. An end of the adaptor is just a bit small so it fits perfectly inside the tube so the adaptor does not take up extra space. It's important to pay attention to every inch when you are working in a small space. It is easier to fit the adaptor end into the tube when they fit right into the tube.
As I have a unique application for this reducer, I have to assume most people's applications may be different. Normally, my Chinese Diesel heater's exhaust duct exits the plastic container where it's housed at 3". I needed it to change that output to 4" and increase output from 3" to 4". I found it to be the perfect solution for my setup and it There is no problem with taking hot air from the heater with this filter, as it was designed for dust collection.
Since the sizes vary from 3 in to 4 in, it was impossible to change mine from 3 in to 4 in with it, even when it said 3 to 4 inches. To convert, we are using duck tape.
It is a quality fitting that would have been perfect for my application if the dimensions were for the inner diameter rather than the outer diameter. While I hate to send it back, I feel that I might have chosen another pair of socks if the actual inner measurements had been listed.
As the 4" part on the retrofit exhaust fan did not fit, the part did not fit. My trip to Home Depot yielded a part reducer 4" to 3" from Home Depot.
A 4 to 3 inch adapter is not what you are looking for! It will be necessary for adapters to be either larger or smaller than the matted parts at one end. The piece is solid and does not bend to allow installation. Ads that are false.
