Are you able to remove hardened grout outside the grout line with this tool? I need to remove excess grout that has dried outside the grout line. ?

This thing won't scratch tile, but it will cut it. I'd suggest muratic acid, especially since it doesn't scratch.

Although expensive, the product does exactly what it is supposed to

It does the job and wears a bit quickly, but it is a good product. It's difficult to regrout the shower because the tiles are two different types, and I'm using two different tools to do it. For the shower pan, this tile was used, and it made it all the way to the end. The total distance I would have needed two or three of these mats to cover the entire job would have been about four feet. There is a wear and tear on them. Even so, I can't imagine trying to scrape the grout out If it had taken a long time, it would have took.

As a grout tool it is great for getting into tight spots, but as a unit it wears out faster than the Bosch grout tools I have used in the past. There is a possibility of having to replace the bathtub shower surround three or more times.

You should let us handle it! Save yourself a lot of time! Don't even think about the rest! I tested all grout extractor bits for removing grout between tiles, and I think this is the best!

After my daughter and her husband purchased a house built in the 1950s, I bought this to remove some damaged grout from a couple of her bathtubs. The tile blade works fine, but I found it easier to remove the old grout (most of which was already loose) with a chisel and hammer rather than the blade. Using this method can be more destructive.
