You won't be able to do that
One inch is the length of the sleeves.
It is not clear to me what you mean. In the package there are two pieces. I am not satisfied with my two choices. It is not possible to use the tolerances. This leaves me feeling very disappointed.
There is no room for a 1/4" shank bit in a 1/2" collet, but a 1/4" shank bit will fit in a 1/2" collet in this situation

The price is great, but there is some work to be done to make it usable. As opposed to the stock photos, I received a very rough machined piece with pits, a horizontal groove, and even a slice near the edge as can be seen in the picture. It has even rougher interior with grooves and spirals running the entire length of the container. Also, the outer ends of the pipes do not have bevels and are straight. The inner edges of the pipes are beveled, but again, these are very rough bevels. My bits are 6 so I got these since I have some that are 6 bits. A 335mm shank won't fit in the 1/4" collars I already own (the 6 fits the 1/4" collars. It's just that I had some 315mm shanks) and figured I would With a 0 in front of each bit, I measured the bit size. Since I could not figure out why some 1/4" bits fit and others did not, I bought a 01mm caliper. There appeared to be two different sizes across several manufacturers, and even within one manufacturer they differed. This collar is very coarse, yet can even hold the slender 1/4" bits mentioned above, although a slight push or sanding of the inside will let it pass. Everything else about this collar is poor, and the "slimmer" bits described above stick out badly. Despite the massive grooves, the router bit will be unevenly secured over time due to the massive grooving, and may even develop grooves on the shank of the router bit.
Everything seems to be working fine after I assembled it. Every aspect of the project went smoothly and When it is used, I will post an update.
I did not expect the quality to be as high as it is. However, one of them works really well and the other does not fit very well. But they will have to do for now thanks to their low price.
I was very happy with the results. Many people have mentioned that a collar would have been nice on the sleeve and I think that is a good idea I was able to accomplish what I needed from it.
This is a nice pair to have as an extra pair, and the dimensions are just right for holding all my router bits.
The adapters were too short for my router and dropped in the slot below the nut, so I had to remove the nut in order to remove them. As a result, they are too small on the od so they must be tightened extremely, while they are too small on the id so they must be tightened more to hold a.
The outside diameter as well as the inside diameter are good and snug. The job has been completed.
