Returning to Whiteside, the RC 1148 isn't my favorite

After a few jobs, the first blade became dull, and the replacement blade I bought chipped as well. The convenience of these inserts is that they can be easily replaced while the body remains intact. On hardwoods, it doesn't appear to carve well.

It does exactly what it should. When used on my CNC router, the tip is simply too fragile and breaks easily.

Sharp and simple to alter

It was simple to change this insert. The old one's tip had broken off (due to a deep cut), and I was a little hesitant based on other reviews I'd read. It was, however, quick and painless. The insert maintains its sharpness for an extended period of time.
