Yes, of course. If you want to leave the spline on the other edge, it requires the matching bit with the 1/4" spacer.
Definitely, position the bottom edge of the bit 1/2" above the router table and route with the top edge against the router If you don't know how it works, try it on a scrap piece of material first. You can count on it for many years to come. There are some products being sold that don't seem to be high quality, and have a tendency to fail or even fall apart when first used. There is no better router bit than this Yonico one. As well as birch plywood, I used it to cut 1/4 grooves in As I was working on drawers, I had four grooves on three draws approximately 20 x 15 inches each. (And practicing to figure it out and make sure the height is right). I had the best results doing the "climb cut", where the blade came in from the top rather than from the side. Otherwise I would blow out the groove length-wise.
Despite the fact that it cuts a groove which is thicker (larger) than the factory groove on Trex enhanced basics decking, there is no fault with this product. You should not use Trex if there's some factory grooves in its design that you want to match up with. Buying the Trex bit for my next project is on my to-do list. As for the groove size, I am not happy with it as it is not what I was looking for.
With the help of this bit, I cut grooves on the ends of my existing red oak hardwood floor in order My task was to install a parallel strip of red oak flooring perpendicular to the already As the bearing is located on the side that faces the floor, it will enable you to route the groove over the.
The router bit is so sharp. Holy forking shirt. The groove I was making for the table I was making was a problem for me, so I took several test cuts beforehand. This thing cut perfectly smoothly with no effort on my part. I'm very happy with it.
In my case, I used the bit to place channels in a door for inserting a mirror, a really custom job that would have been beyond my abilities without it. This bit can be brought flush to the door front and can be used to cut diagonal channels all the way around the door frame without tears and with minimal fuss. For $15, this bit looks like a bargain and works as advertised.
A burning, a struggling, and a tearing out are not involved.
With the top bearing bit, I was able to create a groove in an old stair tread (top of stairs) so that I could secure the new tongue and groove wood flooring more securely. This tool will get the job done!.
I had trouble finding a router bit of this size that had a 1/4" shank for the 1/4" oak plywood that I used. It worked perfectly and made clean cuts on the cabinet doors. The doors are still being trimmed, but the final touches are being made.
