A slot cutter is used with an arbor that holds the blade. Work with the blade perpendicular to the direction of travel. It has a bearing that allows the cutter to cut a slot that is 1/2" deep and 1/8" wide when using the 6705a. The 5/16" bore refers to the size of the hole in the middle and the arbor that the cutter should attach to.

A piece of glass was to be inserted in the groove of this router bit as a cabinet door so a piece of Red Oak molding could be used. It is fitting for the router hub to mount the cutter, and the whole thing was installed in the router table, with the oak molding drawn across the face without shredding or any other flaws.
I was able to make smooth, clean cuts with this product. It is not available locally.

I have no complaints about the quality of this blade, it fit perfectly, is easy to get in and out, works great, and met the description.
The cutter is very nice.
