This was used in my home - Designed and built a router sled for flattening The router I have is a Bosch 1617 and I was concerned that it might be too wide - it measures 30 inches in diameter In considering this 1" diameter versus a 1", I debated whether it was better to go with the 1". The number five. You'll want as much power as you can squeeze out of your router without overtaxing it. The following 1 is a summary. A 5" was perfect with little to no overlap (1/8" - 1/4" Approximately 1/8" at the extremes of One thing that led me to choose this particular bit was the longer shank While offering more up and down room, the shank is still wide enough for the router to grab on to. To give you a sense of how good the Bit quality is, here's a short video My router sled rails were made of steel struts, and I accidentally struck a rail with my router bit just one minute after I started. My favorite thing about learning things by trial and error is when I have to tough it out. However, I managed to make a fairly serious gouge in the steel rail, and the bit was almost completely unphased by this. I was able to see a very slight ding in the bit once I magnified it. Yet it still performed well on every pass, producing a smooth surface every time. In light of the fact that I'm over-sensitive In the - To meet my perfectionist demands, I ordered a second identical cutting bit that is now designated as my "final pass" bit, and the cutting bit with the microscopic ding is my "roughing bit. ". I thought it was pretty cool that this bit had a dynamic Even if you buy two of them, you won't break the bank. They are so cheap, you can buy two without going overboard and getting a lot more anal than you need. I'd like to mention as well that I like the quality of the products. There is a sense of craftsmanship in that country, and it comes through in the tooling they use. It is important to have quality. Tooling and materials from western/southern Europe and North America beat the snot out of the typical Chinese materials and tools. The hardened Chinese steel was no match for my Italian bit, so I was able to run this bit.
My table definitely struck the mild steel support at the sides, as mentioned by one of the reviewers. The first thing I did was to contact my friend and ask him to watch what I was doing. Everything turned out to be good in the end!.
It is heavy duty and very sharp. Later this year, when I set myself the task of leveling my rough cut tree slab, I believe it will be able to handle it. As I mentioned above, I am impressed by the quality, delivery, and price of this product. I will not hesitate to buy another product similar to this.
Exactly what I was looking for in a router plane A wonderful edge that holds and leaves little to no surface fluctuation.
It arrived well packaged and in good condition. In general, under appropriate conditions and with a soft wood, such as pine, I believe this bit will provide many hours of service. The bit has also performed well even when wet treated pine produces noticeable resin buildup.
It looks like it will be able to plan large slabs of wood for the tables I built. Haven't tried it yet, but it appears to be just what I need.
