It took me only a few months to buy my first router and this bit set (17702q), and for my needs, both items have proved to be much better than I ever imagined. In the beginning, I wasn't sure I needed a substantial set (especially the classical ogee bits), but I ordered it anyway to give myself a chance to try out a range of different bits and to learn more about how my router functions. This is exactly what happened. It couldn't have been more perfect for me to purchase the big set! The ones I have used so far are still new to me, but having them and knowing what they do means I will know how to plan projects to use them. As a result, now that I know how to do simple joints for boxes, the dado bits have been very helpful. All of them hold their edge well and seem to stay sharp for a while. Honestly, they opened up a whole world of possibilities.

I had every intention of throwing out the case and making my own, prior to seeing the case. This set is kept in a nice room that I was pleasantly surprised with. Now that I have these bits for about four months, they are starting to show wear. They have been used both on pine and oak over that period of time. As of late, I have been using a mill to mill an angle into the side of hardwood flooring to finish off an opening for a large A 1/4-inch set of bits is in my possession. They seemed like they could potentially be quite good, so I guess I would want to try them again. I purchased it almost four years ago and have not been disappointed since. As long as you use them occasionally as I do, the bits are fine. Generally you should get a different set of bits if you're a daily user, but these are great for the hobbyist and weekend warrior to have. It is really great to be able to have so many bits on hand.
