Whiteside bits are what I buy when I have the This router bit came up top in a comparison of router bits plus it is made in the USA. Freud is my second choice as they are pretty good when I need a router bit quickly.
The dado comes in a plastic holder with a lid, they are the best I have ever used. I am a carpenter and run a cabinet shop. The dado cuts beautifully without any tearout All Freud for me from that point on
There is no spiral in them. An alignment is made between the cutting edge and the shank of the bit.
You should use undersized bits based on the thickness of the plywood you plan to use.

In order to create shelves for my cabinets, I have used a 3/4" bit to cut 1/4" deep dice in maple plywood. Very clean cut, only a small amount of fuzz from the veneer that I was able to remove with sandpaper. There was a lot of gap in my plywood because the dice were close together. In the future, I'll adjust my jig and do a second pass on the opposite side of the cut to give myself a little more room on the shelf. In addition to cutting holes in 1/4" plywood, I have also used the 1/4" bit to cut large holes in some 1/2 " I really liked how it worked- It only took a couple of minutes to cut through the wood. It was not easy to remove veneer fuzz with the 1/4" bit, but these were relatively soft Straight blade bits fall within my range of preferences, so I am not too picky about their cuts.
As others have noted, Freud router bit cases can be Because the bits are so sharp, and the bits are so tightly held in the case, I sometimes get nervous when I try to remove them from the case. While I've applied silicone to the bit shaft to make them easier to remove, I cannot remove the cases due to the tight fit inside the case. It is NOT recommended to try to remove the bits by hand. There will be some damage caused by them.
This is a bad product! After the bit was shot (after two passes of dadoing 16'), it was completely dissolved. Take a look at the Seeing as Freud is well known for his top tier quality, I suspect this to be a fake.
To speed up things I bought these bits to speed things up. I already had a jig I used for making exact size dice, but I had to make a bunch of plywood cabinets so I bought these bits. It has been said that the exact size bits aren't as useful as they should be because of the variations in plywood sizes, but from my experience this isn't the case. It has been no problem to get a reasonable fit with the dado with plywood from multiple batches.
It is extremely difficult to find a better quality of Freud bits than those made by Freud. My skepticism is always heightened when I purchase new tools and I am surprised when they live up to my expectation. It was a pleasure to see these. As if butter was cutting through the wood, they sliced through it This test was conducted on a pine 2x4 board. I bought the 3/4-inch bit from Home Depot to use on 3/4-inch cabinet grade plywood. I have no doubt they will last a long time. Zero play exists between the plywood and the frame. In that case, I measured the thickness of the wood with a digital dial caliper before purchasing these, and you should do the same.
As far as the plywood undersize is concerned, it's great.
I was pleased with the speed of delivery and the quality of the router bits, which meet my expectation. The problem has been resolved.
Slowly but surely, I have been adding to my collection, and I am pleased with the quality of this piece, too. This set of bits was purchased for cutting loose fitting groves for 1/4" plywood to fit in, but I decided I wanted all three bits, so I purchased them all.
Excellent fit and excellent cut through plywood. Originally I was really critical of the price of Freud gear, but these days I have swallowed the bitter pill and use their quality products. In fact, I have come to believe I would only buy Freud blades and bits going forward. Everything is good as new and tight as a drum.
