Concave cuts or hollows out material can be made with the Engraving bit's ball shape. The tip can be used to make rounded side cuts as well as round bottom slots and grooves.

Insert the accessory bit all the way into the tool, then back it out slightly before tightening it down for best results.

Hard woods should be cut at higher speeds, metals should be cut at slower speeds, and plastics should be cut at very slow speeds (to avoid melting at the point of contact).

If there is any chattering, increase the speed.

What does 105, 106, 107, and 108 bits mean?

The only difference is size; I do a lot of detailed carvings and want to have all of the sizes on hand; the 105 and 108 are very small detail bits that wear out quickly. The 105 is a squared cutting bit, while the 108 is a ball. I hope this has been of assistance.

Carving is a lot simpler now

What a difference having the proper equipment can make. Until I purchased the 105, 106, and 107 series bits for my dremmel, I thought a similar tool that came with it was sufficient. It's like cutting butter with a hot knife. Wood was bitten through. Jobs are much easier to complete and take half the time.

I frequently use my dremel, and these are particularly useful for engraving. Lowe's and HD have a limited supply of these. However, there are two per pack, and they last a long time.
