In the past year, I have not used my DeWalt DW421 sander and I was unable to mount pads on it for a project because the mounting disk just crumbled. So I decided to buy this During installation, removal of the screws holding the old (original) disk in place proved to be the most challenging. The screw heads were a little tricky to thread through the holes in the new pad, but I managed it with a little pressure. Once they were threaded through, they just had to be threaded back into the Despite their standard size, the standard pads apply well and stay put. Selected the appropriate sanding procedure and completed the project.
Changing that worn out hook and loop pad will make the world of difference! Replacing the worn out hook and loop pad is all you need to do. Your sander will be back in working order as soon as it is replaced. It seemed like such a big deal to me at the time, so I procrastinated. I found it frustrating to have to continually replace the sanding disks. Having to sand with a block was really frustrating for me! Now is the time to act. You are better off saving your frustration for more important issues!.
Despite its ease of installation, it doesn't stick too well to the sanding disks. It is a pain to have an adhesion. The sandpaper just keeps flying away after less than 5 minutes. The use of a connection pad is not so obvious, but you need it to keep from becoming A four or five star rating would have been given if I hadn't had to chase after As I've mentioned, this worked perfectly once I added a $4 connection pad that I purchased at HD. Having purchased an A pad, I wished it had appeared as an option when I checked out.
I used it for a replacement for my Dewalt sander. Material on Short Hooks has a much stronger hold than original material. Screw holes are provided for 3 screws on this one. Please see your sander's manual for the number of screws - after receiving the correct model replacement pad, check the number of screws. Four screws are used in later models.
In addition to the pad flying off the 2nd time I used it, other reviews indicated that it would happen. It is not a product you should use.
There was something wrong with this item. As soon as I opened it, I noticed that the holes for the screws didn't have that washer built in. Ultimately, I decided to give the disk a shot anyways, and sure enough, the disk ran fast enough for the machine to use I am disappointed. Time and money are both wasted on me.
I had an easy day on the job.
On my DeWalt sander, sandpaper no longer stayed on the wheel. It was easy and quick to replace this disc. It is now easier to keep the sandpaper on the disc and for it not to.
