The 6- The bit that came with my K5 jig is the same size as the inch bit. That part is sometimes too long. br>br>It works fine. br>br> This happened to me once more today while I was repairing some drawers. With the 3-piece set, I installed the screws with ease using an inch bit. I could have made do with a right-handed person. It's possible to use an angle head as an adapter, but it's inconvenient and slow. The 3- The price of both bits was well worth it for the inch bit. br>br>After three years, I had no choice but to write this review. This isn't the first time I've wished I had purchased these items. Prepare ahead of time to avoid being stranded when a short driver bit is required. br>br>If you know a woodworker who has a Kreg K4 or K5 jig, this is a great gift idea. This is a great Christmas stocking stuffer or Father's Day gift. They'll require the short bit sooner or later. It's also a good idea to have a spare long bit on hand.
These were a replacement for a Kreg Kit I purchased, whose driver had worn out after about 40 screws, preventing pocket hole screws from being inserted and, in fact, causing cam out. I had hoped that these would be better, but the long one only lasted about 10 screws before it began to come out. It was complete garbage, and it ended up there. This is something I'm looking into doing in Milwaukee. I have one of those and used it to complete the project, but instead of having to use the extension, I'd like a longer one. The Milwaukee bit does not wear out while performing the same task. As a result, things can be made to last. This Kreg driver set is a complete sunk cost.
I was building a play table and four chairs for my granddaughter, and after mocking up a chair to see how everything fit together, I realized that the Kreg 6" 2 square driver that came with the K5 pocket hole jig wouldn't fit in some areas once the bit driver was in the drive. So I ordered the Kreg 3 square driver. Everything worked perfectly with the 6" set. The drill was able to fit into the tight spaces thanks to the 3" bit driver.
For a Craig's List item, this is unusual. The 6" long bit is unusable due to its wobble. This bit has never been used by anyone other than myself, and I am confident that it has never been dropped or abused. The shorter bit does not pose a problem. br> I double-checked the short bit and other long phillips drivers to make sure there were no issues with the Dewalt drill chuck, and everything was fine. Thank you for your time, Frank.
I needed a shorter driver than the 6" one that came with the Kreg pocket hole system when I was building a shelf for my daughter's desk, and the 3" one worked perfectly. I would have had to pre-order the 3" one if it hadn't been for the 3" one. Make holes in red oak with a drill. However, I was able to locate this item on Amazon one day and have it delivered the next. I also get a spare 6" driver, which will come in handy at some point in the future. br>br>Getting one of the screws in the attached photo was simple enough, but once the other long segment was in place, a shorter driver was required.
Kreg tools fill a unique gap in the woodworking tool market by producing specialty tools that solve difficult problems. I admire them because they appear to think outside of the box and seek solutions. This is one of their basic tools, consisting of two hardened steel bits in 3" and 6" sizes for tight sots and easy use, respectively. I purchased these as a backup because they are included with some kits. For the systems, I have a lot of the tools and screws. These tools always go above and beyond what I had hoped for. br>br>I hate to say it, but I have few, if any, complaints about these tools because they are well-made; I highly recommend all of their products, so don't be afraid to give them a shot. I gave these a four-star rating because they aren't particularly impressive, but I think a four-star rating is appropriate for old bits that aren't particularly interesting. Kreg.
These were exactly what I was looking for in terms of longer bits for my Kreg jig. It's impossible to have enough bits, so I'm always on the lookout for new ones. After building a few things over the last few months, I've found that having these longer bits comes in handy when using kreg screws, as regular bits won't reach the screws you're setting. These are a must if you're using a Kreg jig.
This is a fantastic offer. I'm using these for pocket hole screws and the main reason I chose this set is because they are the perfect length. As a square drive, I can't imagine they'll ever wear out, so unless I lose them, I'm set for life. The longer bit can be used alone, while the shorter bit can be used with a magnetic bit extender.
