It's not fun to have a screw hole with a broken bit at the bottom. The stop collar hasn't lost its utility. I switched to a different yellow drill bit brand, and I haven't broken one in over a year. The Irwin collar is also effective. I'll order a set from Snappy Tools when I have the funds.
They worked fine at first, but after only a few uses, they became ineffective. maybe 30- Two of the three shanks have failed out of 40 holes. This product is not something I would recommend.
These were ideal for the job I was doing. You can't go wrong for the price. I'm sure there are better ones with bearings on the stops, but for the average woodworker, these will suffice.
After about a week of use, the smallest one's tip broke off. It was rendered ineffective. The others, on the other hand, are fantastic. So far, there has been no issue.
It works just like a countersink set, which is exactly what I expected. It appears to be holding up well so far.
This is a fantastic countersink bit in general. Because it's well-built, you can countersink and pre-drill. Pilot holes for tapered anchors should be drilled first. The item arrived in good condition and on time. This purchase has exceeded my expectations.
To be honest, all brands aren't as well-made as they once were; the drill bit portion always separates from the shank, and this is true of every brand I've tried; I believe they're all the same, just with a different name on the package.
These are effective.
