This tool does not cut or countersink a hole of 1/2" in diameter. In reality, a #6 Countersink bit is little more than a quarter of an inch or so long. This is a 268-inch screen. This size of hole can be filled with Plugs.

I got a 3 pack of DeWalt countersink drill bits last year and I love them. I dropped the 9/64 bit and it broke, During the replacement, the square was not replaced. It slightly wobbled when I put it in the drill and turned it on. In testing it with another two drills they wobbled too. Then I laid it on the counter to verify, and there was a slight bend in the drill bit. The new part came back with the same problem as the original bit, so I sent it back to Amazon for a replacement. Those last 3 countersink bits I purchased from DeWalt work like a charm. I wonder if they got a bad batch from the manufacturer.
I need tools to be able to work properly in a woodshop. A very poor job is done on these countersinks Three of them all came out of the package with a strong wobble, and we haven't opened any more (I bought a bunch at a time we bent the bits to make them Is it possible a bad batch was sent to me? I usually depend on the Dewalt name to mean good quality, and I was very disappointed here. Could counterfit be an option?.
It is the third one I have purchased over the past 15 years or so, and they have held up well even with a great deal of use. I like the clean hole they bore in both hard and soft woods, as well as MDF. No matter how many times it is used, the countersink continues to function properly. By using a tapered hole router, screws can be drilled with accurate and consistent depths without having to use This countersink is my highest recommendation, as you will be very pleased with it.
It is a product I use dozens of times a week as a builder. In comparison with industry standard straight but countersunk sinks, these are not comparable. The countersinks in these cutters are quite a bit stronger than the ones in standard straight bits, which break more often. They last for years, rather than just days, unlike normal straight bit countersinks. As well, it is far more affordable than the fuller brand tapered countersinks and is just as durable. This product is highly recommended. I purchase a few of these every year since I find myself unable to manage my own health.
Worked great until it stopped working. About a week was all I had to deal with this one. four (varying sizes) break this way, this one blew out about half way through. I won't be buying another one this time. Get your stuff together,.
The fact that Home Depot (which recently began selling individual units) is charging three bit packs when only one bit breaks or becomes dull is not satisfactory to me.
Despite having used many counter sink drill bits, I find that these are my favorites. They have a 1/4" drive which I appreciate, but what I especially appreciate is the taper. I like how the basin depth can be set easily and the sink cutter does not clog up as much as others I have used in the past. There are several places where I keep these in my wood shop that are accessible from my service truck. They'll definitely be on my shopping list for a long time.
This type of drill bit is good for hammer drills and drivers. The tool is simple to use and makes countersinking quick and easy.
