There's a wide range of sizes to choose from in this line from Amana and the carbide cutters are extremely durable. After drilling thousands of holes with my #10 screw size countersink, I broke the drill tip. In looking for a replacement, I found YH266) on the Amana site but no way to purchase. My search led me to routerbitworld, where the same part number was listed. You can buy it for around $2 on Amazon. com. There are 50 pieces of $1 each. I ordered a few and paid the shipping cost. The drill bits don't like lateral force so you may break them occasionally, so it makes sense to keep replacements on hand. I lost one by trying to move from one hole to the next without fully removing it from the previous hole. Overall, these countersinks are from a company I have not heard of before, but they last so long I think they are worth the money. Also, for those of you who haven't discovered ROunterbitworld, I would recommend it. They offer fast shipping and a huge selection of router bits and are a great company to use.
This product stands up to daily use even in hardwoods. Cleans up well and will outlast an HSS bit by 10 to 1 in IPE and equivalent hardwood types.
No matter how many holes you drill in maple, it still cuts well.
In white oak, I invested a lot of time and effort into this counter sink, but the bit broke in the fourth hole.
The tool is good.
It's always recommended to buy tools from Amana Tools, this is great like all the bits and works perfectly.
This is a quick countersink for the Amana 55626.
