Amana Tool, how are you? Better drill bits should be available
3/5

Great design, but the original part is a piece of garbage; here's how to fix it. I'd give it a 0 out of 5 star rating if I could. On the fourth hole I drilled, the bit broke off. The chipped carbide on the countersink can be seen in the photo. It was a complete waste of money. EDIT: br>br> After some consideration, I came to the conclusion that the cheese-based dish would be the best option. The real issue was that the grade included a drill bit. I ordered another one and used a minus pin gauge set to measure the bore, which came out to be approximately. 128". These countersinks have a through hole bore that will accept a 30 drill bit, so that's what I used. A 30 is . 1285 is the number. 0035 with a drill bit of 1/8 inch. This tool is made to work with 8 screws with a minor diameter of. 123 As a result, I received the stub. length (equivalent to the length of the cheese provided) I also reviewed and inserted 30 drill bits (snug fit, good for concentricity, which is important when counter-sinking). sinking! ) into the Amana body and they appear to be fine. br>br>Spend a little more money on better drills, and you might get a better result. In my project, the carbide chipped when the original drill bit broke off, which still bothers me, but these are better designed than the vast majority of sleeve-style drills. When you adjust the depth of the countersink, it inevitably wobbles all over the place. Three stars for the design, one star for the cheap drill bit that came with it at the time. br>br>On the plus side, there is a clearance of less than. The bit is nice and tight in that bore, and there is no discernible wobble - 001 or so even if you're changing the depth of your hole As if it were a bank vault, it's locked up tight.

utter nonsense - Conserve your funds - Marks are very bad

This is a complete waste of time. I bought it to install some birch plywood and to ensure that the depth stops on my counter sinks were consistent. br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>it marks the I tried it on birch plywood and pine, and the dark circles it leaves from the depth stop are visible in the photographs. I even cleaned it to make sure there was no residue left on it, but it still leaves these horrible marksbr>br>I can do a better job marking the depth with a piece of tape on the side of my regular countersink bit.

5/5

As long as you are gentle with the product, it will work fine. If you want the stop to leave a dent or a mark, don't apply too much force. Simply slow down and take your time, and this system will work perfectly. Alternatively, hold on to the stop so it doesn't spin as it makes contact with the wood. Another advantage is that the countersink portion of the bit does not become clogged with wood after each use. It's not necessary to choose it.

The drill bit is nice, but it's not very expensive
3/5

After seeing it recommended on a youtube channel, I decided to order it. The seller provided excellent service, with my order arriving on my doorstep on Sunday after being placed on Friday. I took it out to my garage and put it in my drill to make some test holes in a piece of 2x4 I had on hand. The drill bit sheared off a quarter of an inch above the countersink in the third hole I drilled. I'm not sure what kind of steel the drill bits are made of, but I'm guessing it's pot steel. I had to replace the bit with one from my Dewalt set, which was quite nice.

The product, on the other hand, is a different matter
3/5

The low-cost, free-spin the degree of friction- When the stop reaches the material, it no longer spins freely. The depth-of-field (depth-of-field) is measured in times. The surface of the material for me has been marred by about 90%. Although sanding resolves the problem, using this costly countersink drill bit adds to the user's workload. I don't see why spending so much money would be beneficial. Too many woodworkers blindly endorse a product based on the manufacturer's name without giving it a fair review.

I used it to build a whole ipe deck
5/5

This is a fantastic product; I used it to build an entire ipe deck. The drill bit is a little cheap, which is my only complaint. I went through about a half-dozen of them, so it's a good thing you can swap it out. It's also convenient to have a spare blade on hand.
Tip: I drew a few lines on the top(bottom?) of the page with a black marker. ) of the brass part so I could see when it made contact and came to a halt.

Stop in a positive way
4/5

I took a star off because I had to take it apart and clean the grit out of the bearings before I could use it. A second star is deducted for bearing races that have been roughly machined. Using carburetor cleaner to clean everything out and reinstalling the carburetor Packing the bearings saved me from having to send it back, but it's still a little rough. The cutter itself appears to be of good quality, with carbide blades.

Grease is required for ball bearings
4/5

When I first opened the box, the depth stop wouldn't turn on the counter sink shaft, and when I forced it to, it sounded like ground glass instead of roller bearings. Fortunately, a retaining ring can be removed to gain access to the bearing. I cleaned the bearings, greased the bearing ard race with lithium (white) grease, and reassembled the bearings by reinstalling the retaining ring. My first hole was perfect: symmetrical, the correct depth, and free of marring, thanks to the depth stop no longer rotating when it comes into contact with the wood. The bearings are still a little gritty, but with use, they should become smoother. It took less than ten minutes to refurbish the room. br>br>The whole thing reminds me of another well-known vendor whose inexpensive items become quite useful after removing the shipping grease and re-packaging them. lubrication and/or'repair' of manufacturing flaws br>br>As needed, I'll purchase more sizes.
