It's just a matter of pulling out these adapters from their sockets. Colored bands are shaped to enhance grip, but I typically remove the socket from the drill while it is still connected so it will be stronger once I remove it. The sockets I have found to be easy to remove from the adapters even though I may have lost a lot of hand strength as a result of aging.
I was just going to say that they just connect to it and disconnect it there's no locking mechanism other than the ball the color doesn't slide or snap.

You won't encounter any problems with them because they do exactly what you would expect. It is so much easier to pull the 6" long 10mm bolts off random engine parts without bending my fingers for 30 seconds rather than having to use the air gun most of the time. Additionally, it works well for driving lag bolts and any other random one-off thing that may I am very happy with my purchase!.

It can't be overstated. You can use sockets on your drill with this tool.
