Questions & Answers

When this is applied to a surface, how thick is the resulting film?

A thin film remains after it is removed, but if it becomes too thick you can polish it down. A thick film, like Cosmoline for example, is not what this product would be good for.

What are the possible uses of this Does my table saw have internal components similar to that?

It is not intended to be used as It is important to use grease on the internal components of the table saw, such as white lithium grease.

Where would the difference between Glidecote V207501 and Bostic 10220 Glidecote be?

My understanding is they are identical, but I've only used the V2075 01 and I've had no problems with it

What if the drawers are made of wood?

A finished wood surface may be able to benefit from it to reduce When I use a circular saw to cut wood, I spray it on the metal blades to reduce friction. Using this method reduces metal burn on surfaces that have been cut. My way of reducing friction between wood surfaces is to use dry bar soap. It may be worth a try for you as well.

Selected User Reviews For Glidecote V207501 Woodworking Aerosol Lubricant

I am stunned! The first dollar
3/5

To coate the outfed table, it will cost 50 cents per square foot. This is the only time when I'm writing a review, something I don't normally do. I thought that this would be the solution after reading the reviews. The only thing I could do is I would give it a rating. As a 3m spray user for years and not able to find what we used previously, I can say that this is not at all comparable to I am pleased that the product arrived on time, but that is all. In the box, there was a cracked lid with the nose hanging loose. A new outfeed table for a table saw has just been built. For the deck I've used 3/4 maple plywood, and the deck as a whole, including the saw, is about 32 square feet. There is a $25 charge for this can. It was exhausted before even applying a single coat (maybe 15sq ft. We were unable to tell if the can had been used and returned or if it was just the way it came. To finish prepping the table, I'll use Bostik Glidecote, not Bostik Glidecoate.

With the way I use my table saw, I ended up finding that Car wax was a better option for my top and has a significantly lower price as well
3/5

Seemed like a good idea after seeing ads, so I got it for my table saw as rust prevention. As long as it goes on well and allows the wood to glide across the surface, it'll do just fine. The top, however, is rusted everywhere within a day or two of my touch, and I end up refinishing the area every time I play with it To protect the top of my table saw, I decided to use Car wax, which was far cheaper and offered better protection than the previous product. I appreciate it.

Everything is fine with the new product
3/5

For years, I had been using Top Coat on my shop tools. In general, it seems like this replacement product is going to be able to do the job, even if it does it in a slightly diminished way. My first impression of this product is that it is thinner It took several coats for me to feel like I had the same protection as you. Also, the product doesn't seem to be as slippery as the original, which is a downside. I will update the product review after I've used it for a bit more.

Exactly what it says it will do
3/5

I think this is slick but I am concerned about the cost for how fast it gets used Maintains the smoothness of the surface You will reach the end of the can When the pressure inside the can is too high, the product goes straight up into the air instead of staying on the surface of the can My guess is that this was done on purpose in order to increase sales. A brief update With only half a can left in both cans, they stopped spraying There was a lot of leakage from both cans' top seams. The item was purchased from two different I'm sorry to hear this. Make surfaces slick with paste wax or something else instead of wasting your money on it.

It's not the shiny cast iron surface I'd like for my saw, but I don't want it either
4/5

If you keep piling it on, it seems to work. My first coat was wiped off after I put it on. I went out a few days later and found some rust beginning to form. From now on, I just turn it on and leave it on. A second application was added after the next time I used the saw, and again, none of it was wiped There is no more rust developing, but the top has a hazy appearance. The shiny cast iron surface I would like on my saw is not something I need, in addition to no rust. A Florida native, I currently work in the hotel industry. There is a lot of humidity.

Until then, we cannot be sure
4/5

Just this afternoon, the product arrived at our office. According to the directions, I used it on the top of my table saw. The paint applied smoothly and dried into a crisp, The benefit of this is that it informs you of any spots you might have missed. It only took a light buffing to remove it. In the humid climate I live in, I'm waiting to see if it really is preventing rust. I won't rate it with stars as I don't really know, but I will give it 4 stars.

BUY THIS PRODUCT FOR A TABLE SAW, NOT A POWER DRILL! A very disappointing experience
3/5

By using paste wax or car wax instead of paste wax and paste, I hoped to save some time and have better protection for my table saw. Please see
*a. In fact, the product doesn't even protect your table top from moisture or rust. After using it several times, there always seems to be a chance of rusting. It is almost as if a surface coated with this product is more likely to rust. The aerosol makes it nearly as time-consuming to apply as paste wax, and there is a lot of waste and overspray due to its aerosol nature. I. c. Approximately a dozen applications can be made with the product in the can. It gave me a sense of reassurance that I was not alone In the beginning, I applied this every few days, but after a few weeks I gave up and started using automotive carbonara wax instead. Now that it has worked for several weeks, this is a great feature.

I Wouldn't Pay The Money - I purchased it for a table saw, and soon after it developed rust
3/5

I was looking forward to using Glidecote as a protectant after reading the reviews. There was a definite disconnect between my expectations and what I received. In terms of hand buffing after the product dried, it did not do so There were places where it felt clumpy. In my experience, wood felt sticky as it moved along the table saw. A few sessions after getting this table saw out, I noticed that rust was beginning to form on its Moreover, I do not live in an area prone to rust. Acetone was used to remove the Glidecote, and paste wax was used to replace it. I did not experience any success with Glidecote. Twenty-five dollars. The price of a can is $1. 00 instead of We love paste wax and charge 00 for it. A slick surface was easier to work with with paste wax.
