Questions & Answers

Is it possible to reverse the psi csc 3000c barracuda?

There aren't any predetermined rules. any kind of screw to keep the chuck firmly attached to the lathe while it's in reverse I don't use mine and wouldn't if it wasn't for something like that.

I'm looking for a 7/8 x 16tpi left hand adapter. ?

There is no such thing as a left-handed lathe. Spindle that has been threaded by hand. If one did, the work would spin off the lathe each time the 'on' button was pressed.

Is it possible to use a nova adapter with this chuck? I have an old Rockwell 46010 that I'd like to use with this. I believe this is the only 7/8-inch adapter I've seen. The number 14 stands for Nova Chuck. ?

Hello, no, the Nova adapter is not compatible with this. br>Thank you very much.

Is it possible to order this in 1 1/4"? 8 tpi?

Look at LA11418 for more information. You might be able to use this adapter.

I'm glad I bought it! I recently purchased the Barracuda 2 Chuck system; if you're reading this, you're probably looking for a chuck system as well
5/5

I looked at a few of these systems and after doing some research and reading reviews, I decided that this system was worth a shot, and I was correct. Everything I needed was included in this chuck, and then some. So far, I've only used the set's larger jaws, and the chuck system hasn't let me down; it spins true and stays tight! I work with tools every day and, like many others, I'm sure I don't always read assembly instructions. For example, I initially set up the jaws without installing the four jaws in the proper position, which was my fault and was easily fixed before I used them. For safe operation, I strongly advise anyone using this or other chuck systems to consult the minimum and maximum diameters/depths for tenon and mortise joints. The point is this: 1. ) go over *every* instruction 2. I ordered the Finishing Jaws for bowls so that I could enjoy this fantastic chuck system. Penn State Industries' website has a variety of other accessories and resources. In any case, I can highly recommend this chuck system and am pleased with my purchase!.

Chuck is a genius
5/5

This was purchased and installed on a cheap old Craftsman tube lathe I purchased as a beginner lathe to see if I enjoyed woodturning. The Nova 1624 was quickly upgraded. I bought a 44 lathe because I love turning. I decided on the Supernova 2 chuck to go with the new lathe because it was larger and better. The Supernova 2 chuck was larger, heavier, and more attractive than the original. It does not, however, hold up as well as the PSI chuck does. The Supernova 2 needs to be tightened all the time and will still come loose even when turning balanced wood, whereas the PSI never came loose even when turning very unbalanced logs/blanks. I've since ordered the PSI chuck adapter so that I can use it on the new lathe. The PSI Barracuda is superior to the Supernova 2 in every way. I'm not sure how it compares to the much more expensive chucks, but it's a great deal at this price. The lack of a set/grub screw to use the chuck in reverse is the only disadvantage I've discovered.

This is an excellent piece of writing
5/5

"Get a GOOD chuck," the instructor said in a woodworking class I was watching. There are "Expensive Chucks," "Good Chucks," "OK Chucks," and "Junk Chucks. " This is an excellent solid chuck. br>br> Specially shaped jaws, for example, may be available for an extra hundred dollars. If you need more jaws in the future, I believe you can get them for this chuck. This chuck is secure, allowing you to turn safely. To hold large pieces, the jaws can be changed out. Jaws can be easily replaced. It also has jaws that can turn in a variety of sizes. micro-turning (similar to pens), and in-depth analysis between things like boxes of various sizes and jaws for the majority of the rest This chuck is HIGHLY recommended for serious hobby turners, conservative professionals, and those who simply want a safe chuck that won't let go and bonk them in the head. br>br>Contrary to popular belief, there are a number of disadvantages to using this product. None at all, to be honest. But if I give a fair assessment, and I'm a nitpicker, picky and demanding. It's a chuck that has no gears. If you have a really messy shop, the gears MIGHT get saw dust in them easier than a closed chuck, but I haven't had that problem yet. Cleaning an open chuck with an air hose, on the other hand, is simple. To clean a closed chuck, you must disassemble it. br>The case is made of recycled plastic that is "cheap" in appearance. We'll have to wait and see. I've had cheap plastic cases break within a year (mostly the latches), and I still have a skillsaw in a cheap plastic case that's been around for twenty years. This is how I feel about it: As a woodworker, I prefer to keep my finest tools in dovetailed wooden cases. So, after I finish making Christmas gifts this winter, I'll make a pitch for this excellent tool. Finally, the wrench for removing and replacing the jaws is a little flimsy, but it gets the job done. But then again, so is every wrench I've ever received with any tool I've ever bought. End result. br>br> This is one you should buy. Before we buy a pair of chucks, we all look at about twenty different pairs on Amazon. Because you despise it, this is not a chuck that will sit in the box gathering dust. br>br>PS: If you're looking for a unique way to express yourself, try using the words "cre I bought a slightly less expensive one with a well-known brand name before this one (purchased on Amazon). Before I finished my homework, I bought it. I simply relied on the BIG name's reputation. What a complete squandering of my funds. I'm only allowed to use it with tail support; no bowls, boxes, or spheres are allowed. This one gives me the assurance that I won't get hit in the head if I make any of them. Now I'm able to make really nice Christmas gifts without wasting any wood. Take advantage of your Wood Turning therapy while it lasts.

The first four are fantastic
5/5

chuck your jaw! Last year was my first year of woodturning. I quickly realized that I needed a 4-wheel drive after starting with only a drive center. I needed a jaw chuck to complete the projects I had in mind. When you get yours, you'll have to degrease it because the factory uses a sticky grease to keep it from corroding during storage and shipping. This chuck, however, will perform admirably once it has been degreased. br>I had planned on getting a bigger chuck, but this one works great and is a good price, so I'll be using it for a long time.

Chuck, you've done an excellent job
3/5

For the money, it's a decent chuck. It's great that there are so many different face plate options to choose from. I also got and enjoy using their "alligator" jaws, which are listed on their website. br>br>I discovered that putting a slight dovetail on a tenon makes the chuck hold better. After a few months, I noticed that the screws holding the face plates in place were beginning to strip, so I used a screw extractor bit to remove the worn ones. I made my own replacement screws, and they worked great. I went to the hardware store with one screw, which turned out to be a metric 5mm x 0. 8 thread. The only ones with a flanged top they had were longer and had a phillips head insert, so I used a bolt cutter to roughly cut them down to the size of the original screws and inserted them through a 5mm x 0. I would recommend wiping down the chuck, as well as all of its plates and screws, with a corrosive preventative such as Fluid Film.
