A jaw with the best gripping power I've ever encountered
5/5

Oneway is known for their outstanding In particular, I like the Profiled pattern jaws, and this is what they have to say about the difference between it and the Sered pattern
The Profiled pattern is thinner, while the Serrated is thicker. Our patented profile design features several advantages over other chuck manufacturers' serrated design. (From Oneway's website)
There are several advantages to our patented profile design over other chuck manufacturers' serrated designs. In the following paragraphs, we explain how our patented profiled jaws work In terms of grip on round stock, the serrated design and profile jaws perform equally well at design diameters. The profile jaws grip much better as soon as something that is not the diameter of the design is grasped, since they have a larger surface area to grip onto. As the diameter of the cutting head increases, the area of contact between the jaws and the wood lessens and the damage to the wood also increases. Profiling jaws also offer flexibility, as they can be used to grip square stock, which is not recommended to be done with

This sealed the deal for me, and I proved it with a 28 lb. bag. With a McNaughton system, I bore out the center of a piece of cedar in my Powermatic and caught a rather large chunk. The tenon snapped off the bottom of the bowl when the cutter caught in the slot, but the piece in the chuck held as if nothing.
