In the CLOSED position, the jaws measure 2 5/8" long in the EXPANDED position, they measure 3 3/8".

Dimensions of the jaw when the jaws are in the OPEN position compression mode 3 3/4", expansion mode 4 3/4".

Using dovetails for large pieces is a great idea! With a 3" grip, it is best used for turnings larger than 6 inches and with a reduced risk of damage to wood fibers

I love the Nova Chuck G - it works so well! There are three chucks in total

As a result, I can extend the range of my Nova Chuck G3 chucks with these jaws. There was an assurance that Oneway Talon jaws would fit the Nova Chuck, and for the most part, The jaws only need to be loosened by pulling a small limiting pin from the back of the Oneway Talon, and they will work with the Nova Chuck. My chuck capacity gap was filled a bit better with these jaws than with the Nova Chuck #3.

It is possible to secure the wood fibers without crushing them with dovetail jaws. Tenons are structurally sound because they are held in place by this.
