I use mine in a CNC, but I don't see why it couldn't be used in a handheld router as well. Because it's only a 1/16 inch bit, you only need to be aware of the depth of cut and speed.
1/4" is the maximum, but even that is pushing it. It's a thin bit that wouldn't be able to withstand a lot of sideways pressure.

They're sharp enough for my needs, and I've been able to get some nice detail cuts with them. As previously stated, they are fairly inexpensive, so I'll be happy if they only last for a few projects.
