With it, there was everything I needed to attach the self winding reel hose to my air compressor. It is a great product, and I have already used it for other tools I have. While I was able to make these adapters myself from my old hose, it would be nice to have a spare. Otherwise, the kit came with everything it specified. And the hose was really sturdy. I was extremely disappointed to discover that all quick disconnects leak, and it is not just a small As a result of using my old quick disconnects, the problem is now solved. It is only optional for a disconnect if you don't have the old fittings to go along with the tank. The only drawback to this would be that your compressor would cycle day and night on occasion, or worse yet, an empty makeup tank at the time you need it. The other option would be to throw out the fittings and use your old trusted ones, as I did when I made my makeup tank. Certainly the hose is flexible, but I only hope that it will last a long time.
