Because people are careless when it comes to listing their properties. One of my numerous annoyances. You're not sure what to believe or how to interpret it.
It measures approximately 3/32 inch (more than 1/16 inch but less than 1/8 inch). It's soft and pliable, and it's easy to squash.
It's a generic listing for a variety of items that don't have a custom-made option. br>I made a rating list, which is woefully inadequate. It's a pet peeve of mine.
If it gets wet, it appears that the water will wipe it away.

" The grid lines are not straight, so don't count on them. The width is closer to 17 and 5/8" than 18". A 90-degree angle was my starting point. Each length is cut with a 45-degree straight edge, and the liner lays flat with ease. The liner has imprints that appear to have been left by the roll being pressed against something for a long time. Overall, it has 24 feet, which is exactly what I needed at a reasonable price, and the texture of the liner resembles the top of a Craftsman tool box. In fact, I used the extra length to cover the Craftsman mat with the tool box top. It also appears to be oil resistant, which is an added bonus.
This appears to be an excellent shelf liner, not that there is much to say about shelf liners. I was looking for something with a little padding but not too much, and this fit the bill perfectly. I recently purchased a couple of metal cabinets and used the liner in them. It was simple to cut and does not appear to hold its curled shape for very long. It's flat on the ground. There isn't much chance for it to move because of the way it's cut and how it sits on the shelf, but I believe it would have a tendency to move around on a painted or smooth surface in another application without a little bit of weight. The texture of the liner makes it a little difficult to wipe clean if something spills on it, but I'm confident that a scrub brush and a hose sprayer would suffice. I'm pleased with the liner and would buy it again if the occasion arose.
It also lays flat. I'm very pleased with this product; it's simple to use and obtain high-quality results. It produces good results because it unrolls flat, is easy to work with, and cuts and installs cleanly. I used Nitto tape to tape the edges down (and the results in my drawers are fantastic). br>br>I only wish it was available in a double-package. I had to put two strips side by side in the wide version. My oversize drawers have a side on which they can be stored.
READ! br>br>Excellent material, as advertised and comparable to other brands, soft and tacky enough to keep tools in place. Love it. I was given a different brand (16"x16ft) as a gift, and it cut square perfectly. br>br>AS OTHERS HAVE STATED, THIS BRAND IS CUT CRACKEDLY (like a lattice defect) AND IS NOT FULLY 18in (just under). br>br>Use a fabric table or square to guide your cuts; don't worry, it'll be simple. Overall, this is a fantastic product, but quality control could be improved. Overall, I'm pleased with my purchase, both in terms of price and material quality.
However, I wish the material had been a little thicker to give the tools more imprinting capability.
I bought some commercial wire shelving units for the closet in my rental apartment, but I wanted to line the shelves in some way to keep my tenants' belongings from falling through the open wire shelves. This liner was ideal because I had chosen black shelves rather than the traditional chrome. It was simple to cut to size and appears to be of good quality. The surface has a pleasant spring to it and lays flat.
The quality of the lining is exceptional. Customer service is even better, though buyers should be aware that the roll is closer to 17. 5 inches shorter than 18.
I would strongly suggest it. It's of good quality, easy to cut, and it looks great on my Dewalt shelves.
