Questions & Answers

Do you think you'll be able to stand on it (you're 225 pounds)?

This is a box that I adore. It's both difficult and straightforward! I'm not 225 pounds, but I wouldn't hesitate to put all of my 180 pounds on it. I mean, it's not a step tool, but for $20, you can't go wrong with a tool box.

What are the dimensions of the interior? I need a place to store a 22" torque wrench. ?

From corner to corner, all the way to the bottom, it measures 22 inches. However, the inside dimension is only 21 inches from side to side, so the wrench will fit if laid in diagonally.

This is something I bought, and it has spots on the sides that appear to be holes where something could fall through. What is their purpose?

I realize this is an old question, but it is a common issue with older Dewalt cases. I have the Tough Chest, which is extra large and has multiple rails built in. I haven't been able to figure out what they were supposed to hold, if anything at all.

IS THERE AN INTERIOR TRAY?

On either side, there is a small half tray that will fit.

It's not perfect, but it's a lot better than nothing
3/5

This tool box has been in my possession for about six months, and I'm quite pleased with it. I work on a ranch, and my truck sits on the back of a flat bed 24 hours a day, seven days a week, through dusty roads, scorching heat, rain, and, most recently, snow. Resistance hasn't opened it once to find water inside it, despite the fact that it's been through some pretty heavy rains. The box is sturdy enough to use as a step as long as you don't jump on it and you don't weigh more than, say, 300 pounds. It is not, however, impervious to damage. If it falls from your pick-up truck while loaded with tools, If you go faster than 20 mph or drop it from a height of more than 6 feet, I'm sure it'll be toast. br>br>The reason I gave it three stars instead of four is because the one I received was slightly warped. You can't tell by looking at it, but the lid doesn't quite match the rest of the container. This means that when closing the lid, you must apply slight side pressure to get the latch to lock. It still locks and is weatherproof, so it's not a big deal, but it's annoying because "single hand operation" is one of the selling points. " Also, the inside tray does not fall into place easily; you must gently press on the front of the box to align the contacts. I'd be willing to pay more and give it 5 stars if those two issues were resolved and the box was made of a more durable material. But for $25, you can't go wrong with this box, even if it does make you feel like a commie sellout because it's made in China.

Dewalt Toolbox is a solid piece of equipment
5/5

Observe the images. I bought this toolbox for my husband about six months ago, and it's still going strong. He has a tool bag that he uses the most, but he had a lot of extra tools that needed to be put away, so he now has one. br>br>For the price we paid, we think it's a great box that's well built. Uploading some photos so you can get a better look and hopefully an idea of how your tools will fit. br>br>I am very pleased with my purchase and would recommend it to others. Great price, solid construction, and a stylish appearance! I hope you found this information useful.

For the money, this is an excellent case
5/5

This case was purchased to house a number of power tools that did not come with a carrying case. I was afraid they wouldn't fit because of the plastic tray, but I was mistaken. It easily fit my jigsaw, a ryobi angle grinder, a dewalt hammer drill, the drill's and grinder's handles, a set of masonry drill bits, and more in its case. I was still able to fit the tray on with plenty of room beneath it. The photos show how everything fits together, and I measured the inside dimensions to give you a better idea of how big it is. br>br>When closed, it seals very well and does not flex like most cases. It's water resistant, so it'll withstand rain, splashes of water, and so on, but the contents will almost certainly perish if the case is completely submerged in water. One person inquired if you can stand on it; in my case, yes, I can use it as a step, but the case's ability to withstand this will obviously be determined by your weight; it's a sturdy case, but it's still plastic. br>br>Overall, I'm happy with it; Dewalt has never let me down.

Plastic toolbox in good condition
4/5

Plastic toolbox in good condition. The one- It's simple and quick to use the touch latch. It's more durable than most plastic tool boxes, and it's also easier to transport. br>br>The dimensions listed for this box are outside dimensions, and the shape of the box limits the amount of space that can be used. br>br>In my opinion, this box deserves one star less than the Stanley 023001W 23-inch box. Toolbox for Structural Foam in Inches br>br>The Stanley is wider than the Dewalt, but the Dewalt is taller. br>br>The Stanley feels solid and has a tight water resistant seal, whereas the Dewalt feels less solid and has a looser seal. The Stanley has two latches and latching or unlatching them requires some effort. The Dewalt, on the other hand, is a breeze to use. br>br>My circular saw fits in the Stanley but not the Dewalt, as both boxes have trays that do not extend the entire length of the box. The Stanley tray has a higher capacity and a ridged surface. br>br>I would use the Stanley if I were transporting tools in the back of an open pickup truck. It has a lower chance of opening and is less likely to leak. br>br>I'd use the Dewalt if I had to carry the box around all day. br>br>I have both boxes. In a big-box store, they're the same price. In the garage, I keep a Dewalt with some mechanics tools. In my Stanley, I have a cordless circular saw.

For camping gear, these are good utility boxes
5/5

1) For camp kitchen tools, both gas and non-gas, I purchased a pair of these. 2) For camp "tools," use a stick spray. " My wife thought I was going a little overboard, but they did a great job of keeping things in check. The shelf in the box did exactly what it was supposed to do: it kept smaller, frequently used items close at hand while hiding the contents of the box. br>br>Kitchen box was capable of holding three non-flammable propane cans. There's enough room "above the tray" to hold a vinyl table cloth and clips with odds and ends, as well as a Weber grill spray, condiment/spice kit, a pack of Faberware plastic utensils, cook and paring knives, and so on. Our tent mallet, three camp lights, a box of AA and AAA batteries, claw hammer, general pair of drivers, and dikes were all in the tool box. When placed next to our Weber Q1200 and 2-burner grill, the boxes also served as wind breaks. br>br> a camp stove with a burner Boxers are also strong enough to stack items in the trunk of a car. The only disadvantage was that if the lid was open and the box was lightly loaded, it could tip over. This isn't a major issue if the box is fairly full.

I was tired of having my tools get wet or snowed on while working on my property, so I bought this for a small job site
5/5

I needed something with a tray and that could comfortably hold my Dewalt drills. With a 1, I'm able to fit two drills. With the nose down and the tray not moved, a 5ah battery will last for a long time. All of the basic power tools and carpenter tools will fit nicely in the storage space. br>I've stood on the box a few times (I'm 135 pounds) and there was no flex or movement, and it felt solid. For $26, this was easily the largest and cheapest tool box I could find. The water resistance rating is an excellent tool; nothing has gotten wet, even when it has rained or snowed. I strongly suggest it.
