The buckles do not measure up to the quality of the materials. A very good quality apron for the price. Durable canvas, good stitching, and soft, comfortable straps and shoulder pads separate this apron from the rest of the market. There are some good buckles, but the buckles are Chinese plastic junk. In order to avoid returning the entire apron to Amazon, I emailed the company and asked them to send me new buckles. I emailed them back and they replied that not only the buckles were carried, but they also stocked other parts as well. It arrived today, which meant that the manufacturer would send another apron to me. Also, they noted that this is a new product for them and asked that I provide them with any suggestions as to its shortcomings. Doing the buckles was what I did. Our first introduction to ITW Fastex brand buckles came with our school's softball program. There is no wrong way to snap these together. They are the gold standard.
