Yes. They should be covered by a lifetime guarantee. Gearwrench is repped by Fastenal. If you go to a Fastenal store, they will simply replace it with a new one. This was something I did about 6 months ago. It's been eight months. I hope this has been of assistance.
This is the first time I've ever had a problem with these wrenches. Before using, double-check that the switch is fully pushed into the desired position.
You can either send an email to csrhardware@apextoolgroup or return the entire set to Amazon and have them replace it. com

They're decent, but not quite up to par with the original gearerenches. But what can you do? Businesses need to make money, so they source from other countries. Anyway, the shipping was quick, and I believe the price is reasonable for the set I'm reviewing. I've had the wrenches for two months and have discovered that they are useless. I'm extremely dissatisfied with this outcome. The 9/16 and 3/4 have both broken, and others have trouble engaging the test. They are a waste of time.
More Snapon wrenches were sold as a result of this tool set than any other flyer, promotion, or truck. br>br>I wanted reversible ratcheting wrenches because if you're not careful, you can "lose" a non-reversible wrench in tight spaces. All of the smaller wrenches have a gritty ratcheting mechanism that has a tendency to change direction and seize in place without warning, turning the ratcheting wrench into a big regular combo wrench. Overall, the video is of poor quality. br>br>I was on my way out of state to work on a hydraulic manifold on a CRJ 900 aircraft, and I was having trouble removing a nut. I couldn't use a box end, ratchet, or pliers because I didn't have any on hand. I didn't have a chisel, so I had to use the open end of a combo. The first wrench that came to mind was a gear wrench, so I rounded the nut with the open end. So I dug around in my toolbox until I found my Snapon wrench, which was the same size as the nut and had the same face, and voila, it came right off. That is to say, I have essentially thrown away all of the money I spent on this set. I'll have to return and purchase a new set from a more reputable manufacturer.
I'll be using these as a diesel technician, and I'm disappointed that the 5/16 doesn't work right out of the box; I'll try to warranty that soon, and we'll see how that goes; otherwise, the rest of them work, and I'll see how long they last. br>Perhaps gearwrench will see this and correct it.
Until I had to use them, they appeared to be adequate. As a journeyman millwright, I work with tools on a daily basis and have previously owned many gearwrench brand wrenches of various types, all of which were excellent. I've never seen a geared wrench of such poor quality. BUYING THIS PRODUCT IS A MISTAKE! It is true that the other negative reviews about a lack of quality control. I hoped it was a mistake. In a clean machine shop, I used the 9/16 for the first time today, and the gearing was locking up or switching on its own in less than 5 minutes. It's complete nonsense. I'm thinking about returning it to Fastenal and seeing if they can replace it with something decent because they have a warranty, but honestly. I've tried everything from Snap-on to Snap-on to Snap-on to Snap-on to Snap Matco, Craftsman, and even Harbor Freight products are all available. This is comparable to what you'd find in a dollar store.
The Chinese gear wrenches let me down. 4-day purchase 16 will return on April 4th. The box end of one wrench broke off before I could use it, and the next wrench I used wouldn't stay engaged in one direction. These are far inferior to Taiwanese gear wrenches from a few years ago. It's a pity, and I won't be purchasing this item again. As a union millwright, I use tools on a daily basis, so this will be passed around.
They're all right. The only size I required was 15/16", which also happened to be the only one that was defective and refused to rotate. Now it's up to me to see if I can get it back. The ratcheting mechanism has a rough feel to it. What you pay for is unquestionably worth it. This is a brand that I would not purchase again.
It's a lot easier to use than a regular wrench, and it's a good deal. Yes, snap-on or low-cost options are available. o brand, but they come with lifetime warranties and are well-made. I've used them on a number of projects and they've never let me down.
One of the ratcheting mechanisms got stuck on the first use, which was a bit of a pain. I ended up putting a fastener in the vise and breaking it free by going back and forth with the ratchet end. I'm guessing the mechanism had a burr or something in it. All of the others were fine, so I believe that this one was an outlier. If I need metric measurements, I'd buy these again.
