I've had these for a week and have already serviced the brakes and changed the oil. I'm pleased with my purchase thus far. My expectations were exceeded in terms of performance. These are for my home tool box, as I have my gear wrench sets at work. I'm not sure how well they'd hold up to heavy use on a daily basis, but for home and side jobs, I find these to be a reliable money-saving option. Certainly superior to my previous Husky's.
In the plastic box, they're still lovely and tidy. I haven't tried them yet, but based on what I've read in reviews, they appear to be as good as advertised. Instead of paying someone to do my automotive repairs, I just buy new tools for a fraction of the cost and do it myself. I've been repairing my own cars out of necessity since the 1970s. As a result, I have a sizable tool collection and save THOUSANDS of dollars by doing things myself. Now, thanks to YouTube, someone has filmed the repair, making it incredibly simple.
These arrived today, and they are exactly as described. I ran a quick test on each ratcheting mechanism, and they all appeared to be in perfect working order. I haven't had the opportunity to put them to their full potential yet, but as a mobile mechanic, I'm sure I will soon. The biggest advantage is that the box appears to be much larger in the photo than it is in reality; it's a very small, compact case for these wrenches, and they fit very snugly inside. Overall, I'm very pleased and, given how inexpensive they were, a little surprised. If they don't meet my expectations after I use them, I'll update this review.
A metric 12-footer a set of wrenches like these in a pc size? Is this for real? When working on foreign cars (in my case, three VWs), this is the best tool available. Because I haven't put the set through its paces, I have given it a 3* rating. br>The only thing missing is a flexible indexing feature. head to keep it from moving, but the friction keeps it pretty tight for my needs; The price is unbeatable, and I would highly recommend it.
It's a nice touch that they ship in a box. I bought these to loosen the fasteners on vehicle wheel pulleys so that I could replace serpentine and timing belts, but they turned out to be useful for other things as well. So far, I'd say they're a good deal. Snap- On & Craftsman wrenches are ridiculously overpriced (though they do make a good product), but this set of wrenches is a much more practical investment at a much lower price. Furthermore, the flexhead feature is extremely beneficial. This is a product that I wholeheartedly endorse.
So far, the only thing that appears to be holding this product back is the packaging. The wrenches were loose in the box, and the box's grip and hold on the wrenches was insufficient, allowing them to fall out of their designated slots. But that's beside the point; I bought the wrenches, and the box was just a bonus. The wrenches appear to be of reasonable quality. I haven't used them yet because they only arrived today, but based on their appearance, weight, and manufacture, I don't expect any problems.
I agree 100% with other reviews as well as well as well as well as well Immediately toss the box in which they arrived. It's so bad that I'm not sure how they got them in there in the first place. But they get the job done. br>br> These were purchased to replace a previous set that had broken the first time I used it. Before I shelled out $100, I figured I'd give the inexpensive sets another chance. I'm extremely pleased with myself. I use these things on a daily basis, and on some bolts that I probably shouldn't have, and they work great. The tilt head is secure enough to stay in place (most of the time), the ratchet function is tight and secure, and the grips don't cut into your hands like some others do. br>br>These are the ones I would recommend.
I'm a professional technician who decided to give these a try. I figured that for the price, even if they were junk, I could live with the loss. These wrenches, much to my surprise, are of good quality and have a great ratcheting mechanism. There isn't much variation in engagements. I'd make a comparison to the major tool manufacturers. I can't say for sure how long these will last, but I'm glad I got them.
