What is the best way to punch a hole in a bead with this tool?

This would be possible if it was a hollow flat bead. There is not much punch in the actual part. It would be better to drill it.

One problem is that the hole that results appears to be If you want that size, then 5 mm would be appropriate. If you buy a punch, buy one that is a bit larger than the hole size you will going to go with a 2-mm for my 1-mm. I have a five hole course.

An item similar to this was featured on a craft In the event that I hadn't seen the blog, I wouldn't have known an item of this nature existed. Normally, this is for jewelry making, so I guess jewelers are familiar with it, but I also make wreaths and often add metal signs to the centers. A perfect hole is made for the wire to affix the sign to the wreath frame with this punch.

I used it on a sheet of 24 gauge copper and it worked fine The brass sheet is 22 gauge and the paper is cardboard. My weak arms have a little difficulty puncturing 22ga brass since it is a harder metal than copper, but I am still able to do it with a single squeeze. Three showing the back of the metal and the side of the steel - "side view") Idt Idm I need to file. I think this was a good purchase. There was an extra pin/punch screw included in the package.

Though the pliers appear fragile, I was confident that they could cut through the metal typically used for jewelry making

Although they made a dent, there wasn't a hole, and pushing harder felt like it would break the material. There was no way I could make up for the disappointment. This may be the tool you need if you have thin blanks.

I am extremely pleased with the results! I needed exactly what you provided. In order to cover a previous hole I made with a needle, I punched a hole from the back side of the card. Perfectly covered! The extra hole is on the right-side of the case. It is a good tip from the maker!.
