Questions & Answers
Yes, it works well for smoothing out rough spots and knots that need to be leavened. It's also useful for trimming edges that run with the grain. After using, sand the work smooth or use a smoothing or edge plane to finish the job. Every woodworker has one, and I wish you the best of luck!

Excellent value for money. I saved a few hundred dollars by hiring someone else to do it. I only paid $12 for this tool! It was simple to operate, and I was able to complete three doors in less than 15 minutes. br>br>The metal body is comfortable in my hand, and the blade, while not as sharp as I had hoped, does the job. The blade is simple to replace, but it takes some balancing and fiddling to get it in the right place. br>br>Overall, it was a good deal and a good option for a small job. If you plan on using it frequently, I recommend investing a few dollars more in a higher-quality brand or model.
The plastic set screw that holds the blade in place has been mentioned in some of the reviews, which is a legitimate complaint - How much more would it have cost if it had been made of "immortal" metal? But that shouldn't be an issue if you spray it with WD40 every now and then to keep it from becoming brittle. Pro tip: To loosen the bolts, use pliers. tinker with the set screw - You'll be grateful to your fingertips.
Plastic makes up the tensioning button. The metal cuts into the plastic button as you tighten it. Tightening becomes a chore as a result of this. This is a product that I do not recommend.
I have sanders, planes, and files, but I had no idea until I saw this that this is exactly what I've been looking for to remove wood a little faster and more precisely than with low-grit sanders or files. It has the feel of a hand plane, and I've used it a few times with good results so far. I may get a larger version in the future, but for now, this one has served me well.
I used it right away when I got it. It worked perfectly and was extremely convenient. The plastic end that holds the blade in place is a little difficult to tighten, but it appears to be adequate. That's the only thing I'd raise an objection to. In general, this is a very useful tool.
Because the price was low, I decided to purchase this new one. It's the same high-quality item, and if I ever track down that screw, I'll have two.
This dark color Because there were no instructions for assembly or use, as well as no packaging, I only gave it one star.
Kind of. It's like grating a piece of wood with a cheese grater. It did the job, but a cheese grater would have done the job as well. Alternatively, a sander will do the job in about the same amount of time.
