My return request was denied because the product was of inferior quality, and it is greater than 45 degrees. Its customer service has been less than stellar lately, so while Amazon's products are good, their customer service is not so good. Amazon is not a good place to purchase this product.
If you plan across the door at the hinge end, I am not sure how successful you will be. If you have enough room to plane along the entire length of the door, you will be more successful.
I used it to smooth the stuctures behind a bathtub so it didn't need to be sharpened. The blade was very sharp when it was delivered and I didn't have to sharpen it.
Could you please tell me where I can get replacement blades?

It's hard to adjust the blades with the current mechanism. Rex Kreuger's video demonstrates how inexpensive airplanes like this can create a lot of performance for their price. The plane is as warped as a boomerang in addition to the bad adjustment mechanism. The sanding had me so tired that I clamped weights on the side to help me. With a price like that, you get a lot.
If you think that price could be better, you might think that the product could not be that bad.
The While I am not averse to working to find a plane that makes sense for me, I am not opposed to putting in the time. The cost of $400 would be better spent on that. - what's wrong? - what's the matter? 1
I have never seen a blade so soft and so To get the back flat and sharp, you'll have to spend a long time on that, and then you'll lose the edge when you 2.
There are two screws on either side of it, horizontally, that allow the iron to advance. In order to advance the iron, you have to pull up the cap, which dislocates the iron, and always leaves it at an * * *3. Hollow is the basic form of the frog. You'll keep warping the iron as you use it, and the thing will chatter continuously as it's so light. Ultimately, spend a little more time and buy the next price bracket, perhaps one between $100 and $200 Lie Nielsen or Veritas do not have to be present, but you cannot settle for anything less.
Getting on this plane is a hassle. As a result of the dual adjustment on the iron, it is next to impossible to cut a straight line. It is also vital to pay attention to the iron itself. The thing I should have spent my money on would have been a far better product.
I have updated Since I have been using this plane for some time now, I find the separate adjustments to be incredibly frustrating. Despite the fact that it does the job after some adjustment work, it would be better to spend a little more on a plane that has Don't forget that you get what you pay for. It is not a high quality plane, but once you figure it out and use it you'll be able to get the job done. The best way to flatten the sole and plane iron is by wet dry sandpaper and flat surface (float glass is what I used). As you'd do with any quality plane, you'll do this process on this one as well. Before you use the blade, make sure you sharpen it. It is normal to lose the sharpness of the knife once it has been sharpened, but it will become moderately dull fairly quickly after that. There are two adjustment screws, so you'll need to match their depth with the iron if you sharpen it out of square. Once you do, you'll have to adjust the screw until the blade continues to protrude When I put a piece of wood in the vise, set the iron, and plane just on the outermost portion of the left and right sides of the iron, once I get an even shaving left and right I know I'm square and should have a straight line. As soon as you have completed the above, expect to see some shavings when you use this plane to plane paper. You will never be able to compete with an old Stanley, but for around $30, a little sweat equity, and patience, this should get you by until you can afford the next step. Unless you don't mind microadjusting either one or both of the screws to get it just right, then just tighten the cap down, and then tighten the screw going through the cap to secure it and you won't have to play with micro-adjustments afterwards.
Take a close look at the photo and you'll understand what I mean. This manual plane was the first one I bought, and when I bought an electric plane it didn't I love it. In either case. My time was wasted on this. The metal part on this number was poor quality. There is a tear in the 4 bench plane. It's possible to get a refund on your account, but not on your time. Tell me who can refund your time.
I’ve used a few others that had slightly awkward handles, but these are better than others.
It is a good value, but you will have to be patient with its machining and sharpening before you can take full advantage of it. I flattened it and sharpened the blade over the course of a few hours, and it was ready to use. The product handles Douglas Fir and Poplar without a problem despite not having done much hardwood work with it yet.
I knew this I would need to tune up before use. As long as you do that, the tool works perfectly fine, if you want a cheap plain that works out of the box to absolutely perfection then this is not for you.
