When installing luxury vinyl plank flooring, this is a great tool to have on hand

This isn't a tool for doing a lot of heavy lifting. It is a small set of tools designed for use in craft projects. It's not easy to adjust, but once you do, it remembers your preferences. I installed spc (stone polymer composite) luxury vinyl plank flooring, which is a very hard material, over 500 square feet. To lock a plank into place, it is normally "tipped" into the groove of the previous plank. There are times when you don't have enough room to tip, such as when going around door frames. In that case, shave the lip of the previous plank's groove, dab a little glue in the groove, and drop the new plank in. This small planer proved to be the ideal tool for removing the lip. Because the blade is so close to the tool's edge, running the planer along the groove and catching that lip is simple. I programmed the tool to make two passes. It was easy to maneuver and did not catch or gouge in this manner.

I only gave it one star because there were numerous warning reviews, and I should have paid attention! I guess I just ignored them because I've always been able to find a way to get around bad tools. In order to remove the tongue on a click flooring system, I needed a small block plane. (My normal plane was far too large. ) The blade, however, could not be secured with this item. It is held together by two small stamped prongs without a secure locking nut, and it kept slipping even before I tried to use it. I had no problems with my utility knife, so don't waste your money.

It came in pieces and no instructions, so I had to fiddle with it to get it aligned properly. It's ideal for flat, level surfaces. I used it to hang a door and it works much better if you don't do it with the door hanging up because you'll have to take it down later.

What you pay for is exactly what you get

And you didn't have to pay a lot of money for it. Spend a little more money on something that you can adjust without causing everything to fall out of place.
