In search of a hammer that my husband and son would not be able to steal, I came across a hammer that is an unusual color. As I was unable to find teal or purple, I chose pink, knowing I would not have to deal with them. Until my hammer showed up, I felt very smug. As soon as my hammer arrived, all feelings of smugness melted away. I was surprised to see that the handle of the hammer was dirty and scuffed. A cloth could not be used to wipe off dirt marks and there was nothing to reduce scuff marks. In addition, the hammer is mostly top heavy and poorly balanced. As a woman with small hands who has been using hammers since I was in my teenage years, it was clear that IIT was trying to make a handle that would be comfortable in a woman's hand. I, however, feel that this attempt was a failure. I find the handle to be slightly too light and means that it feels awkward in my hands, since it does not provide enough weight to balance the head. Although the dirt and scuffs on the handle would have prevented its use, I still would have tried to use it, but the balance issue needs to be considered. You will be sorely disappointed if you buy this hammer only because of the color, but at least you can return it if you are unhappy with it. In addition to the cigarette lighter, I purchased the matching tape measure, which arrived scratched and damaged, but I'm stuck with it since they won't accept returns on that item.

The kitchen drawer hammer keeps disappearing, so we decided it was time to get a new one. There are a lot of little things in it. The tool is better described as a 'Tack Hammer,' but it does the job for simple tasks. Because the handle was so skinny, I didn't feel like I had a great grip, but I plan to wrap some elastic around it so it is easier to handle.
