Questions & Answers

It's a titanium head, isn't it?

Cast steel is not what it is

What kind of hammer did Lary Haun use?

Prior to making my purchase, I did research on this hammer, and I discovered it is the same one It's a great hammer and it's balanced, and I can dive a 16 penny with two strikes, as Larry did. If you want to make the purchase, you can. The hammer is terrific.

Exactly one week ago, I received my hammer in the mail. Good hammer, but the head came out of the box loose. Could you tell me how I can tighten this easily? The quality of the video is very poor. ?

I am a seller of fine Vaughan & Weldon hammers, including the one that you are viewing I would recommend that you ask the seller for a replacement of the product you have been using for many years. During our time using this product, I can attest that we have never had a loose head issue. To tighten it, you can do a number of things. In addition to soaking the striking end in linseed oil and smashing the handle butt against a solid surface, it is also advisable to re-set the metal wedges and other components

Can you tell me how much one of these weighs? Do you include the handle as well?

The weight is 12 lb The weight of a hickory handle can vary one or two ounces from one end to the other.

The framer did a good job
4/5

This is an honest opinion with a bias. The 22 oz. I have always used works for me. I started out with the smooth face, but I got a wild hair and decided to try the dalluge (since Larry Haun is my hero). As soon as I got the 21 oz framer, the first thing I noticed was its quality and comfort. Having the feeling of well-being was a welcome feeling. The 6x6 slab was so enjoyable I decided not to wait to drive some 16's until Monday. 16d coated sinkers were driven into a treated 6x6 as 8d's into 3/4" sheeting using caligraphy. My estwing felt and had a greater power that I had missed since I tried my best to use this hammer as my primary framer for 3 weeks. Despite three weeks, the dalluge held its ground and was perfect no matter what you are driving into or wherever you don't want to move. However, my honest opinion is that it is not as good as it could have been. Take a deep breath if you're a fan of wood handles instead of wasting time and money trying everything at lowes or true value, just get the Dalluge and you'll be glad you did. Conversely, if you're into steel handle guns, you ought to stick with them as no one can match them!.

The waffle lasted for one day, and then it went bad
3/5

It swings well for 20 pounds 20 nails without issue. For some reason, I just bought a new hammer and the waffle turned into a smooth face after one day of use. I've had this hammer for years and it had great performance, until I bought a new one. There is also a lot of looseness in the head of the hammer. Having been a bridge carpenter for more than a decade, I need tools that will last, and unfortunately this hammer won't so I'm giving it a poor Although there are no comments on the weight of the nail pounder or its performance in pounding nails, it is of great quality.

You're ready for the job
5/5

Since I started using this on a daily basis, my estwing 22oz has quickly been replaced. Like you would expect from Dalluge, the fit and finish are top-notch. Anyone that uses a hammer all day, every day, will find this hammer most helpful. EDITOR'S NOTE I still give it five stars after a month of using it. As a builder, I use this hammer regularly to drive nails, move boards into place, work on demos, and drive stakes. I have been amazed at how well it has gone.

If you are a carpenter who drives nails often, the Dalluge 2110 is essential for you
5/5

I was not expecting this hammer to be as good as it is. I can drive a 16 penny nail in one or two strikes with this nail gun due to its good balance. In addition to the finish, the nail holder is magnetic and connects to places where you can't reach with a conventional screwdriver. My hammer will not be loaned or permitted to be used by anyone. You may have to spend your own money if you want one like it. It does not do me any good to have my handle broken or pierced by a nail if it is hit by a miss.

This is not a strong enough frame
3/5

It is not a purchase I will repeat. The back up device was bought in August as a backup for my husband, and he started using it two weeks ago. While he was at work the head of the hammer flew out of the hammer while he came home.

I think this Hammer is the best so far
5/5

My experience has ranged from working on different construction crews to handling residential housing from ground breaking to moving in the homeowners. I used the hammer from Home Depot when I first started out. The first time I worked with an apprentice crew, I noticed that everyone was using a Dalluge hammer or I finally joined the more experienced men by getting a Dalluge 21 oz. hammer, after losing my first one (broken wooden neck). Fig. 1. Sampling the surfaces of hammers. As soon as I saw it, I realized it was much better. The comfort, strength, and balance of this tool made working easier and promoted a better swing, resulting in a faster time to remove a nail. I was told later that I had to try a Stilleto by other guys. My Dalluge's hickory handle was getting close to the end of its rope so I bought a Stilleto and used it to see how I liked it. As soon as I entered the room, I noticed how fast the serrated parts of its face began to deteriorate. I used the medal for three weeks, then a few weeks later, it suddenly cracked in half while light framing. Unlike any carpenter's expectation, the handle of the hammer was intact and appeared new. The claw of the medal was still attached and appeared fine. The head of the hammer, however, had fallen to Though the metal busting in half was no doubt a freak accident, the deciding factor for me was three weeks into use the serrated face looked worse than my one year old Dalluge (and I am no threat to concrete or slamming on a cats paw. I have tried many other hammers from other carpenters over the years. It is impossible to compare the Dalluge with anything. All but the Dalluge 24 ounces are bottled. I also found that it was a great hammer, but when you switch back to a 21 oz you notice the difference in weight, but you can still hammer nails out with two swings of the hammer. As a result, In spite of the fact that I prefer that hammer, I will continue to try other tools, and keep a neutral attitude. However, as it stands right now, Dalluge is king. The Dalluge DDT 16 is next on my list of to-be-tried products. A friend of mine likes it a lot. of the device is that the serrated face of the handle will dull quickly if it strikes a cat's paw, so he'll hit the paw with the side of his hammer in the event he has to use it.
TIPS AND NOTES THE TRICK It is inevitable that a wooden handle hammer will lose its lacquer finish over time. You may find your grip to be a little loose at this point and you will occasionally slip. Alternatively, you can pick up spray lacquer at your local home center when you get to this point. )When you see it, you can pretty much tell what it is.

It was a wonderful Christmas present for my framer friend
5/5

It was a wonderful Christmas present for my framer friend. He opened it almost immediately, and we used it almost right away. It now makes me jealous since the only craftsman I have is fairly small. I really like the looks of this.
