I couldn't sharpen my Honda lawn mower blades because they were too hard. I made use of drill- To get a fair edge, I used end grinders and ground away for a long time. br>br>This file quickly removes metal. Within five minutes, I had sharpened my double mower blades. Then I sharpened a hatchet and some weeding tools that were always dull. It's perfect for me.
On the file in the listing photo, it says "made in USA," but mine says "made in Brazil. " The tang (handle) is also slightly off-kilter. It appears to be of poor quality or a knockoff. There was no Nicholson packaging when it arrived bubble wrapped. Very let down.
This file is used for roughing in because it is coarse, but it removes metal quickly, reducing the amount of time I have to file, and it appears to be holding up well after about thirty sharpened blades. Mine is a product of the United States of America. I'm not sure if they are still in business.
I believe it will work well once I have done so.
Spend the extra money because this is a high-quality file that will last a long time.
This is a brand that I believe I can trust and would recommend to others.
As usual, a fantastic file.
